In this capacity he is well known in newspaper circles and as a de- partment store advertising manager for nearly ten years. He also served the Republican party as Secretary of the Sixth Legislative district for two two- year terms, Burgess Of Three Towns George W. Williams, his late father, widely respected newspaper- man, was a political leader before him, having served as Sixth Dis- trict Chairman many years ago. His chief fame in political activity stemmed from the fact that during ‘his entire married life he lived in three Wyoming Valley communities and served as Burgess in each. Mr. Williams was a former Bur- gess of Courtdale, Forty Fort and Dallas Borough. It is believed that he is the only man in this state who was ever able to make such a claim. The Williams family resided on Franklin Street, Dallas, for many years. “Bud” Wiliams is a candidate in the 20th ‘Senatorial District now represented by Senator Harold E. Flack. Since State Committeemen are elected the same as precinct committeeman in the spring prim- aries, he points out that his name will not appear on the ballot in the November election and urges his friends to. go to the polls mext Tuesday in his behalf. A peculiar twist was added to the contest for the State Commit- tee post through a page advertise- ment devoted to the qualifications of the candidates by the League of Women Voters, Whether the incid- ent was a typographical error or | a political trick has not been deter- mined but the information listed the age of Mr. Williams’ oppon- ent as 45 years whereas his reg- istration card on file with the board of Registrations at the Courthouse states that his age is upwards of 5 years. From Long association with poli- tics, Mr. Williams shrugged off the incident with the terse observation that “anything can happen in poli- tics.” First Grade Registration First grade registration forms were sent home with the kinder- garten pupils on May 7, to be re- turned by the pupils or the parents on May 11, should the parent wish their child to attend Grade one in Dallas Schools for the 1962 - 63 school year, Kindergarten vogletration next year will be held June 14, for SUBSCRIBE TO THE POST VOTE REPUBLICAN FOR STATE SENATOR 20th SENATORIAL DISTRICT “For Action -Not Alibis”’ => PULL LEVER 9-6 **= : CANDIDATES FOR PUBLIC OFFICE WIN OR LOSE ON THEIR THE PRESENT STATE DEFECTION FROM THE RANKS OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY ON IMPORTANT LEGISLATION, DOES NOT MERIT REPUB- LICAN SUPPORT.
