Mormon Missionaries Canvass Area | Theodore Lavelle Has
With Great Dignity And Restraint
Two elders from the Morman
Church, exceptionally nice young
| men, have been assigned to this
| general area as missionaries, On
Easter Sunday, they drew a con-
gregation of their faith, thirty in
number at the Back Mountain
YMCA, where they will hold serv-
ices each week. They have been
welcomed ag speakers at Trucksville
Methodist and Stella Presbyterian.
Elder Davis explains,
not financed by the church. Our
parents feel that it is an import-
ant part of our education to go
into the field, and do our share in
building up the church. We set by
enough money to finance, in part,
our program, and we donate our
time and efforts. Our parents are
solidly back of us.’
Approximately 255 Morman mis-
sionaries give their services in a |

ia and Connecticut.

Former Teacher Dies
At Pueblo, Colorado
Word has been received that a
former teacher in local rural schools |
of Dallas and Franklin Townships
died Monday morn‘ng at 82 in her
home at Pueblo, Colorado.
Mrs. Rose Goldsmith Francis was
daughter of the late John and Cath-
erine Chandler Goldsmith. She at-
tended Dallas Township Elementary
School and Dallas High School.
Because of her father’s poor
heath, she accompanied the family
to California. Her husband, Francis
C. Francis, died in 1938. She leaves
five children in the West, . eight
grandchildren, and a number of
great-grandchildren.
Locally, there are three ‘nieces:
Emily and Irma Goldsmith, and
Mrs. Charlotte Weaver, East Dallas.
Mrs. Francis had not been in this
area since a visit twenty years ago.
