ELEMENTARY BAND CONCERT Two weeks ago when a report on the Band Concert was written we failed to mention how well the Ele- mentary Band performed, It was in- deed refreshing to see those 4th, 5th and 6th graders playing as if they were already in the Senior Band. One of the highlights of their part of the program was a quartet com- posed of Jimmy Harris, Gretchen Hefft, Carol Reimiller, and Ronald DeVincentis, playing “Kentucky Babe”. Special recognition should also go to Mr. Lester Lewis, music supervisor, for his hard work and patience in organizing and present- ing such a fine concert.’ HONOR SOCIETY INITIATION Last Friday in assembly the Honor Society conducted initiation for new members. Crispell, formerly of Noxen and presently an elementary principal in Levittown Schools, has been named as a part-time instruct- tor in Continuing Education at Pennsylvania State University. He is assigned to teach Edu- cational Service 490 Educational Statistics and Measurements. Ninn, Crispell is completing his eighth year as elementary principal in Bristol, Township Schools. He has also had six years of teaching experience in Delaware and six years teaching in Lake Township ‘Bchools. Mr. Crispell was elected Presi- dent of the Bucks County Elemen- tary Principals’ Association in 1958. TEAM LOSES OPENER The baseball team lost its first game to Meyers 4 to 2. The next game will be played on Monday at Nanticoke. The team made a few costly mis- takes which coach Rash has tried to correct. If all goes as planned, the team should come through with a victory. April is Teaching’ Career Month. Many FTA members have visited Wilkes College and Bloomsburg State College, On Saturday they plan to tour Misericordia with the student teachers who taught at Lake Lehman as their guides. As further help to these students who are exploring the field of teach- ing, teachers are permitting them to teach an actual class. Senior mem- bers are doing extended teaching in thei r chosen field, permitting them to teach a class in the same subject a maximum of three days. Juniors are teaching classes in their chosen field for one period, and sophomores are continuing to be teachers aids. Offered Admission To Lehigh University Henry H. Edwards Jr., Claude Street, candidate for admission to Lehigh - University, was among men entertained at the University on Saturday. A freshman class of 725 will enter in the fall. The meeting and luncheon were attended by 305 secondary school seniors. Class of 1966 is being selected from 2500 applicants from thirty-one states, District of Colum- bia, and ten foreign countries.
