The group adjourning to the aud- itorium for a program, Dr. Robert A. Mellman introduced Charles Man- near, chairman of the school board, and other members. Main speaker was W. F. Swingle, from King’s College, who described education as a continuing process, not completed until death. Adults, he said, should not give themselves over completey to recreation or T-V in the evenings, but should con- tinue to expand their horizons by constructive contact with other peop- Janet Balshaw, Robert Berlew, Rog- er Cheney, Janet Cleasby, Nancy Covert, Bruce Davies, Marc Dav- ies, Donald Dennis, John Evenson, Russell Eyet, Linda Farrar, Scott Fry, Doris Garey, Christine Grose, Larry Heycock, Ruth Higgins, Kath- leen Hons; Linda Howell, Mary Jordan, James Kaleta, Robert Kelley, Rosellen Kla- boe, James Knecht, David Kozem- chak, Carol Kuchemba, Patti Lar- son, Carol McGuiness, Candy Mohr, Carol Mohr, Russ Montedonico,, Sus-| an Moore, Ralph Murdock, Beverly Peirce, Dorothy Philo, Donna Priebe, Beverly Roberts, Carol Roberts; - Kerry Roberts, Kimberly Roddy, Margaret Ryan, Deborah Savickas, Kathleen Shannon, Debbie Slater, Donna Smith, Robert Stanton, Roy Supulski, Karen Tag, Sandra Tait, June Lee Tippett, Gary Vasko, Stev- en Townsend, Patricia (Wagner, Jean Welch, Joseph Wilson, Samuel Zachery, Christine Zarychta, ! | AZALEAS LILIES TULIPS HYACINTHS 4 9 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 91 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 < 4 4 4 4 1 4 41 4 4 9 1 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 1 4 4 "EASTER FLOWERS MARTHA ~ WASHINGTON and PANSY GERANIUMS 7 | SPRING GARDEN ITEMS FARM GERANIUMS - BEDDING PLANTS A BULBS—SEEDS DE, PEAT MOSS ‘LAWN SEED — FERTILIZER MAZER'S GREEN HOUSES Located on Route 118, Lehman Highway, Between Whitesell Bros. and Lehman Center lod be be doled donde ded ldo london lion lo dole li id itd ti loo doi dd MARKET Addie bead a aa ha eg oh ie th ds degra blingiibectieiedinciincti dodaci Dallas Evening School Exhibit Combines Dinner With Program le anxious to improve themselves and broaden their capabilities. Lose no chance to absorb new ideas, | he advised. Humorist Robert Haines, a fairly recent immigrant from Roumania, ended his presentation on a sudden note of seriousness, outlining what it meant to him to be in America, and reminding his listeners of the gift of freedom to which they are born heirs, while many less favored countries are still struggling toward the goal. Thomas Carr, principal of the evening school, reports that busi- ness courses have been extremely popular, and that dressmaking and shop classes have had constant patronage. The school has a present enrollment of 225. Art classes have been exception- ally popular, with Mrs. Thomas Longmore and J. Phillips Richards as instructors. Work done by students in all branches of the evening school was on exhibit at the dinner, and at- tracted much attention. Table decorations were arranged by the class in ‘interior decorating, floral designs, with colorful Easter- egg trees. Mr. Carr, in succeeding Alfred M. Camp as principal, stepped out of his usual role of instructor in physics and chemistry to assume administrative duties in the even- ings. The school, starting some years ago as a brainchild of Dallas Bor- ough PTA, outgrew its swaddling clothes two years ago, and is now a full-fledged extension school housed in Dallas Senior High School four evenings a week, and taught by members of the faculty. dob For an Accountant “Did you hear the joke about the film star?” “No, what is it?” “Her secretary didn’t keep the records straight and now she finds she has had two more divorces than she’s had weddings.
