‘Was Donor Of Dolls
| Mrs. Arthur Newman, already
| busy dressing dolls for the Library
| Auction, has discovered who sent
| the four dolls she inquired about
last week. They came from Mrs.
| Gordon Boote, Trucksville. Dolls
| such as were commonly sold at the
| turn of the century have a real
value these days because of their
scarcity.
Mrs. Newman plans to dress one
of the bisque-headed dolls in
materials cut from clothing” of wo-
men who have contributed greatly
tq the Library, to make of it a
genuine memento of the , Library
and the Auction, a treasure to be
“chanced off.”

Enjoy Decorated Easter Eggs
Three things at the Library Book | mittee were Mrs. Edgar Brace.and
Club meeting in the Annex on Mon-
day contributed to the enjoyment of
the largest group attending in
months: A ‘quick review of “Ghosts
in Old Houses” given by Mrs. Char-
les Frantz; a fascinating demon-
stration of ‘decorated Easter eggs
presented by Mrs. Leonard Adam-
shick; and a tea-table decorated in
a enring motif of African violets
and pink candles, presided over by
Mrs, Prosper Wirt and Mrs. Fred
Howell.
Mrs. Frantz gave just enough
of a book review to insure James
Reynolds, an enthusiastic reader
audience, The book may be cbtained
at Back Mountain Memorial Lib-
rary Mr. Reynolds, an artist, had
not intended to write a bock, mere-
about, making pictures
of old American houses; but when
he spotted seven highwaymen hang-
ing frcm the branches of a tree
in New England, in advance of
reading the ghost story about their
ill-fated end, he felt that he must
do something about it.
Mr. Adamshick’'s Easter eggs,
fragile confecticns hanging from an
Easter egg tree, were unbelievably
beautiful. Some of the eggs were
paintakingly cut to make tiny jewel
caskets lined with silk ‘and decory
ated with seed pearls, their delic- ||
ate little hinges permitting ‘the tops
| to be raised.
