BAND TO SELL RECORDS
The band has set March 19 as the
date when they will record most of
the concert. The concert will be
held in April. One of the local
radio stations will record the num-
bers; the tapes will then be sent to
New York. The records will be
sold at concert time. Profits will go
toward the bands trip to Sher-
burne, New York, where they will
compete in the Sherburne Band
Festival.
TESTS TAKEN BY STUDENTS
The students are busy taking an
assortment of tests.
Last Friday, Marie Hardisky,
Carol Drapiewski and Bill Schlosser
took the State Seneterial Scholar-
ship test at Coughin High School.
Last Tuesday, the National Edu-
cation Development Test was taken
by the Sophomores; the Juniors
took the National Merit Scholarship
Test.
ALMA MATER SELECTED
Lake-Lehman now has an official
Alma Mater. Two lyrics were writ-
ten; the assembled student body
voted for their choice after hearing
and singing both versions.
The tune was written by our
band director, Mr. John Milaskaus.
The lyric chosen was written by
Mrs. Fred Swanson. Mrs. Swanson
has written other songs including
one for the Federation of Women’s
Club meeting held at Hotel Sterling.
She also directs and accompanies
the Dallas: Eastern Star Choral
Group and has been a church
organist for a number of years.
A band and choral arrangement

GYM EXHIBITION
State College Gymnastic Team put
on an exhibition for the students
and faculty in the afternoon and
for the public at night. They were
served dinner in the cafeteria by
the cooks and the Mothers of the
Senior girl basketball players. The

by Howard Piatt as FFA Sweetheart
for Blue Ridge Chapter of the FFA
at the annual “Three F” Dance
sponsored by FFA, FH.A. and F.T.A.
JUNIORS PLAN PLAY
On March 30 the Junior class,
under the direction of Arthur Nuss,
will present “Beauty and the Beef.”
This three-act comedy has the most
hilarious results.
VOGUE CONTEST AT LAKE
Vogue Contest, sponsored by Har-
vey’s Lake Women’s Club wags held
March 1. Sharyn Montross, who
fashioned a slim satin dress with a
lace overskirt, was the winner.

Wolfe, Marguerite Hackling and
Marlene Patton.
