The Harveys Lake Woman's Service Club, work ing in cooperation with the school’s home economic department, spon- sors the project which is run nat- ion wide. . Sharyn Montross, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Montross, Noxen, was judged winner of the local competition. Contestants were Marg- uerite Hackling, Sharyn Montross, Rose Marie Jones, Bonnie Gennetts, Marlene Patton, and Irene Wolfe. Marguerite Hackling modeled the white lace gown which won first place at the Farm Show. Miss Montross chose as her “Ideal .| Costume for the High School Stud- ents Dress-up Wardrobe” a dress and jacket of pink satin with deep pink nylon lace. The slim satin skirt with a lace overskirt of a shorter length joins the lined sleeveless satin bodice a little below the waist- line. The lined bodice has a deep front and back neckline. The lace fitted jacket has glass buttons with elbow length sleeves. Her accessor- ies consisted of beige ‘gloves and a matching cdloutch bag. She wore a beige flowered hat band with rose veil and beige shoes. On Marh 15 Mr. and Mrs. Mont- ross will accompany Sharyn to Bethleham, Pa. where she will rep- resent her school in the District judging of the Contest. The District winner competes for State and Nat- ional honors. The District judging is an all day affair and will be at the YWCA. Mrs. E. W. Halteman of Bethleham is Chairman and the Woman's Club of Bethleham will act as hostesses for the Contest. Mrs, Mildred Scruitsky, instructor of home ecenomics at Lake Scheol, acted as advisor to the local con- testants and directed the showing of the costumes. Wanda Minor acted as narrator. Judges were Mrs. Clark Oliver, Mrs. Garwin Smith and Mrs. John Kriel. of the contestants were guests for the evening. Mrs. Wilfred Ide presented each contestant with a gift from the | Crafts Department of the Club and thanked those who made the proj- ect a success.
