Willard Horst Breaks
Legs In Auto Accident
Willard Horst, Forty Fort, former
manager of Flannagan’s Furniture
‘Store, Main Street, Dallas, is a
patient at General Hospital as
result of an automobile accident
incugred in Pittston Sunday night.
He two broken legs and bruises.
Willard and his wife, coming from
a birthday supper in Pittston, about
11 mm. skidded, into the curb.
Two other cars travelling behind
piled up on them. He was taken
to Pittston Hospital by embulance
and later removed to General.
Mr. Horst’s niece, Mrs. John D.
Manley, lives at New Goss Manor.
St. Paul's Society
Plans Spaghetti Supper
Dorcas Society, St. Paul's Lutheran
Church, will sponsor a spaghetti
supper, Saturday, March 3 from 5
until 7. Reservations should be

Four Generations Honor
Oscar Swan On Birthday
Mr, and Mrs, Charles Fisk enter-
tained at a surprise birthday party
honoring the latter’s father, Oscar
Swan, 42nd Street, Idetown. The
party which included four genera-
tions of Mr. Swan’s family was held
at his home on February 9. The
birthday cake was baked by his
daughter, Mrs, Fisk. Color scheme
was blue and pink.
Attending were his children, their
husbands and wives, Mr. and Mrs.
Peter Lincoln, Chase; Mr. and Mrs,
Preston Swan, Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Swan, Idetown; Mr. and Mrs, Den-

Lengels Have Daudhter
Mr. and Mrs. James Lengel, Co-
lumbia S. C., announce the birth
of a baby girl on February 21. This
is their fourth child, they have two
other little girls and a son.
Mrs. Lengel is the former Emma
Lou Rodgers of Columbia. Mr. Len-
gel is son of Mr. and Mrs, Richard
Lengal, East Center Street, Sha-
vertown. He is engaged in the
boat building business.
This is the older Lengels’ eighth
grandchild,
Return To Shavertown
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Malkemes,
Ferguson Avenue, Shavertown, have
returned from New York City and
‘Bergenfield, N. J. They were in
Bergenfield to attend “Our Town,”
a student-faculty play in which
Fred Jr. played the leading part.
Fred teaches English in Bergenfield
High School.
Mrs. Malkemes spent a week in
New York City with her daughter,
Peggy.
Pamela Mae Engleman
Mr. and Mrs. Barry Engleman,
Noxen, annouced the birth of their
first child, Pamela Mae, 6 pounds,
10 ounces, February 22, at General
Hospital, Mrs. Engelman is the
former Ada Mae Britt, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Britt, Pikes
Creek.
Jane Stash
Mr. and Mrs. Steven Stash, Shav-
ertown, have announced the birth
of a six pound, four ounce baby
girl, Jane, at Mercy Hospital on
February 21. Other children . are
Susan, Frances, Steven, Michael,
Christopher and Charles.
Mrs. Stash is the former Frances
Elenchick.” Mr. ‘Stash is employed
by. Lewis Wolfe Inc., Gateway Shop-
ping Center.
Flies To Join Husband
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Fielding,
Noxen, have received word that
their daughter Sandy, joining her
husband pfc Joseph Mollahan in
Germany, is located in her new
apartment at Baumhaulder. Sandy
flew by jet two weeks ago.
At General Hospital
Henry Peterson, Norton Avenue,
Dallas, is still a patient at General
Hospital where he has been in trac-
tion for three weeks, room 129. He
is able to have visitors and chat
on the telephone. His son, Joe,
now employed in New York City,
will spend the weekend with him.

Plans Pancake Supper
Meeting of Gate of Heaven Altar
and Rosary Society will be held in
the school hall Monday evening at 8
o'clock when a film, “A Day in the
Life of His Holiness, Pope John
XXIII” will be shown. Plans will
be completed at that time for the
pancake and sausage supper to be
held in the School on Thursday,
March 15. :
The ‘Society will receive Com-
munion in a body on Sunday morn-
ig at the 9 o'clock mass.

Albert Brown Celebrates
Birthday In Traction
Albert Brown, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Ernest Brown, Beaumont, is
in traction at General Hospital
where he was admitted February 17
suffering from a back ailment.
Brown, a 1961 graduate of Tunk-
hannock Joint Schools, enrolled in
October in the Embry Riddle Aeron-
autical Institute in Miami, taking
training for a commercial pilot's
license and air power technician.
Returning to Miami after spending
the holidays with his parents, he
discovered trouble with his back,
and came north to go to a hospital
closer to his own home, He cele-
brated his nineteenth birthday last
Sunday at General
His brother Paul, 15, baked his
icing, inscribed, All Good Luck.

ess last Tuesday evening to memb-

Eminent Scientist
Charlene Makar, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs, Vincent Makar, New Goss
Manor, had the thrill of interview-
ing an eminent scientist three weeks
ago at King’s College. A sophomore
at West Side Central Catholic High
School, Charlene was delegated by
her school to get a story for the
school paper on Dr. I. M. Levitt,
director of the Planetarium in Phila-
delphia.
‘When the interview, conducted
in a classroom at King's was fin-
ished, Charlene was invited to at-
tend the lecture for college students.
Dr. Levitt began his lecture, “Lady
and gentlemen.”
Dr. Levitt is inventor of the
Clock which was
part of the equipment used by Col.
John Glenn in his orbital flight last
week.
