Janine Louise, only daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Burl Updyke, Pikes
Creek, was entertained on her first
birthday with a family dinner. At-
tending, in addition to her parents
and four older brothers, were Mr.
and Mrs. Ralph Frantz and daught-
er, Evelyn, Shavertown. Janine
Louise was named for Mrs. Frantz,
who is her great Aunt. Later in
the day, callers to wish her a happy
birthday included her grandparents,

and Mrs. Fred Updyke and her great
aunt and uncle, Mr, and Mrs. Walt-

George Robert Yatsko
Mr. and Mrs. George Yatsko,
Centermoreland, announced the
birth of a son, George Robert, on
Valentine's Day. The baby weighed
in at 6 lbs. 7 ozs
Mrs. Yatsko is the former Marie
Wahlgren of Shavertown and this
is their first child and the first

Presiding minister John T. Bud-
ner, officiated at the impressive
double-ring ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore floor length gown
of Chantilly lace over net and satin,
featuring a long train. Her gown
was styled with fitted bodice,
jeweled scalloped neckline, and
long sleeves, tapered at the wrist.
Her finger-tip veil of illusion fell
from a crown of pearls and rhine-
stones, and she carried a Colonial
bouquet of red roses centered with
a white gardenia.

Mr. Freed is a graduate of Meyers
High School, class of 1958. He is

left for a week’s trip. They will re-

Flower Club Plans Trip
To International Show
At a recent meeting of Westside
Flower Club plans were made to
sponsor a bus trip to the Internat-
ional Flower Show at the Coliseum,
New York City on Thursday, March
‘15. Members of the Club and their
friends are welcome. Reservations

Marlan Frantz, Shavertown, by

The bus will leave the Christian

In Lakeland Hospital
‘Word has been received from Mrs.
Sam Thompson, former Dallas resi-
dent, that her husband has been
a patient in Lakeland General Hos-
pital for four weeks suffering from
a very severe heart attack. He has
three nurses, and until last week
was not conscious.
The Thompsons bought a home
at Lakeland and stay there the
year round. Clara, who is alone,
would appreciate notes from old
