1 was a busy weekend at Crown
Imperial Lanes as most of sixteen
lanes were going Saturday and Sun-
day afternoon and evening. Many
groups of young people and com-
plete families enjoyed the popular
sport ‘together over the weekend
‘and Tony Bonomo opened the doors
wide to welcome many students and
guests, home for a brief holiday dur-
ing mid-year’s.
Contest Ends In Tie For First

Violets lead Dallas Woman's Club
League with 26 points; Poppies and
Roses are tied with 25 each. Violets
copped honors for first half cham-
pionship.

weeks was done by Marg Milne and
Eleanor McShea with 502 series and
Jeanne Richards, 189 game; Eleanor
Moyer 524 and Eleanor McShea 190;

Ben Franklin Wins Crown
Ben Franklin won the crown
in Community Service League
for first half with 46 points,
taking 4 from Mercury Motors
by forfeit. Horlacher broke his
record with 530 and Bolton had
507. Austin hit 552, but with

Boyd White stayed in second with
38 after taking 3 from Guyette’s.
Whittaker had 224-209 (603). Pet-
erson rolled 561 and Kardell 510.
Orchard Farm came out of the
cellar with 3 from Besecker’s.
Kostrabala tallied 575; Maturi 522
and Hogoboom 506 for the Farm.
Mercury finished third with 31;
Besecker 30; Orchard 29 and Guy-

Morgan and Moyer Tops
Morgan hit 209 (580), high series
in St. Paul's Lutheran League, Fri-
day and Moyer posted single high of

ews with 12, Sportsmen 11 while
Berti & Sons, Meade's Garage and
Casterline Hauling are deadlocked
for fourth position with 10 points
each.
Nick Tomasak was the “big
pin getter” Monday night when
he blasted a huge 256 game
between a 180-186 for a (622)
series. Nick’s series enabled
Crusaders to move into first
place with 4 points from Berti
& Sons.
Nick had help from Jim Lohman
with 197 (553) and Jim Miller
520. Ron Fielding 200 (563) led
Truckers followed by S. Dicton 212
(546).
Crusaders also rolled high series
for the evening with 978 (2786).
Leo Yankoski’'s 211 (567) and
Walt Meade’s 212 (543) led Meade’s
to 3 point win .over Dallas Lions.
G. Thomas 192 (522) and Shinal
516 led Lions.
Sportsmen continued to “lay it
on” Raiders by copping 3. Frank
Bialogowicz was the “big noise”
for Grill team with 222-221 (590)
aided by Lettie 192 (539) and
Gulitus 519. Molley 194 (523) and
Klass 513 led Raider team.
Jack Trudnak’'s 236 (580) was
the mainstay for Wreckers in 3
point victory over Crispell's who
had Joe Shalata with 212 (558).
Casterline Hauling stayed in con-
tention with a 3-timer from Noxen
VFW as Bert Mitchell had another
good night with 203 (533) for
Haulers.
Works With Howitzers
FORT HOOD, TEX. (AHTNC) —
Army Specialist * Four Donald A.
Moss, son of Mrs. Eloise E. Moss,
RD 3, Dallas, is a member of the
1st Armored Division’s 6th Artillery
which recently provided support for
tank gunnery training at Fort Hood,
Tex.
Specialist Moss’ unit used 105-
millimeter howitzers to fire illumi-
nating rounds which enabled tank
gunners to see their targets during
night-firing exercises at the fort.
Moss, a mechanic in Battery B of
the artillery, entered the Army in
December 1959 and completed basic
training at Fort Jackson, S. C.
The 25-year-old soldier attended
Dallas Township High School.

cuperating from an illness at the

Airman First Class Douglas Cle-
well, who spent two months in
Thialand, has returmed to his base
in Korea.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Phillips and
family spent the week end with
her aunts, Verna and Gertrude
Smith {in York. Verna returned
with them to spend a few weeks
here.
Walter Harris, Harris Hill Road,
was admitted to Nesbitt Hospital
last week as a medical patient.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Finney and
‘family of Lancaster and Marion
Finney, Wilmington Del., visited
their parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. D.
Finney recently.
David Mathers, Staub Road, who
suffered injuries when the car ‘in
which he was a passenger skidded
on ice and hit a pole on the high-
way below Harter’s Dairy, is again

tending the top secret Missile Site
Security School, at the U.S. Army

Lt. Col Olsen is the Executive
| Officer of the 402nd Military Police
Prisoner of War Camp unit which

| U.S. Army Reserves Training Cent-
| er, East End Blvd. The Lt. Col. will
return to home station Saturday,
