Women Of Community Invited To’
See Films On Cancer Detection
Two flms on the early detection
of ‘cancer will be shown at the
Lake School building on the even-
ing of February 1. The films, “Time
and Two Women” and “Self Exam-
ination”, are shown by Mrs. N. R.
Elliott of Wilkes-Barre, A. local
‘doctor will be present. to lead dis-
cussion and to answer questions.
. The members of Harveys Lake
Woman's Service Club extend an
invitation to all interested women
of their communities to share in
‘the viewing of these films, shown
in conjunction with their project
“Conquer Uterine Cancer.”
* “This project encourages women
to have a yearly physical check-
up and is currently promoted by
15,000 Federated Woman's Clubs and
the American Cancer Society.
Plans were announced by Mrs.
Charles Williams, Program Chair-
man, at a recent meeting of the
Executive Board, Mrs, Edward Guli-
tus and a committee of eight nurses
who are all members of the Club
are in charge of the project. Please
come and help us to make: this
a worthwhile program.
Club members will meet for
their regular business session in a
classroom at 7:30 p.m. The films
will be shown promptly at 8:30 p.m.
in the gym.

Service Club Meets
“ Mrucksville Service Mothers and
Wives Club met at the Fire Hall
‘on Wednesday night. Mrs. Albert
Williams presided at the business
meeting. Mrs. Fred Case acted as
secretary in the absence of the club’s
secretary, Mrs. Jacob Beline. Pres-

Festival held in the Honesdale Jun-
jor-Senior High School last Thurs-
. day, Friday and Saturday.
Mrs. William Hewitt is conval-
escing at home after being medical
patient in Nesbitt Hospital several
weeks.

Church met in the fellowship hall
of the church Wednesday night. Mrs.
Thomas Kreidler was in charge of
business meeting. Dr. Louis
Vitale, Wilkes-Barre Children’s
Service Center, spoke on “The
Emotional Problems of Children.”

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kresge,
Mountville, announce the birth of
a daughter, Susan Louise, born in
St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lancaster.
The couple are the parents of four

has been elected president of the
“Last Man’s Club” of Asher-Minor
Post 4, Society of the 28th Division.
Hemmenway will serve during
