Gail, a mem- ber of the first grade of Ross Ele- mentary School, left for class as usual - with no thought of a party. At home, Mrs, Shaw spent the morning baking and decorating a large birthday cake, which she carried into the class room that afternoon, surprising not only the honoree, but her twenty-five class- mates as well. Their teacher, Mrs. Chykowski, assisted Mrs. Shaw in serving ice-cream and candy along with the cake.
