Ralph Nicholson, resident of Huntsville for the past ten years, was laid to rest at Oaklawn on New Years Day. She died, aged 61, last Friday night after submitting to surgery at General Hospital. The former Ruth Wolf, born in Williamsport, came with her par- ents, the late August F. and Fran- ces Nicely Wolf to Wilkes-Barre when she was a child. She attend- ed Wilkes-Barre Day School Sweet Briar College. At General Hospital, she did vol- unteer work with the Pink Lad- ies. John Gordon conducted ser- vices from the Nulton Funeral Home, followed by burial in Orcutt | Cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas Landon, Roy Newell, David Fritz, Vane Race, Paul Fiske, Leslie Kocher. Mr. Scouten, more familiarly known as “Bud,” suffered a fatal heart attack Thursday aftérnoon at his home in Noxen. A plasterer by trade, employed by Culp Brothers in Kingston, he had suffered his first heart attack fourteen months ago. He had taken good care of himself since that time, but was able to carry on his trade and go hunting during the deer season. He was a native of Noxen, son of the late Frank and Bertha Carpen- ter Scouten. He was a member of Noxen Methodist Church. In December of 1944, he was cap- tured during the Battle ‘of the Bulge, and sent to a Prisoner of War camp in Germany, from which he was released in April, to come back to the United States. He was a mem-= ber of Noxen Post, Veterans of For- eign Wars. Surviving are his wife, the former Nellie Honeywell of Kunkle; chil- dren, James and Robert Scouten, both of Kingston; Nancy, Theodore and Tom, all at home; two grand- daughters; brothers, Guy and Gran- ville Scouten, both of Harveys Lake; Charles of Trenton, N. J.; Carl of Levittown, Pa.; sisters,. Mrs. May Reese and Mrs Sylvia Schappert, both of Noxen; Mrs. Thelma Ross of Beaumont; Mrs. Myrtle Richie of Pompano Beach, Fla.; Mrs, Mildred Weber, Belleville, N. J. Milton Keeler, 85 Released From Illness Milton Edward Keeler, 85, of Trucksville, was released from a long illness and increasing infirmity Friday night, dying at Lackawanna Convalescent Home where he had been a patient for two years. Fu- neral services were conducted Tues- day afternoon from his own home on Maple Street, Rev. Frederick Bidam, pastor of St. Paul's Luth- aran Church, officiating. Burial was at Cedar Crest. For 49 years, Mr. Keeler lived in Trucksville, moving to this area from Kingston. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church; char- ter member of Trucksville Fire Com- pany; charter member and past Club; Caldwell Consistory. Masonic connections were in Kentucky. His main interests focused around the schools and people. He was secretary of Kingston Township School Board for some time. Be- fore illness overtook him, he thought nothing of walking the miles to the Dallas Post, to pass the ping along the way to visit with everybody. The coal business led him to many places. Associated with Le- high Valley Coal Company of Cen- tralia, he was transferred to Ehren- | feld, and later became affiliated with the Paducah Coal Company in Kentucky. Returning to Wyoming Valley in 1905, he was purchasing agent for Kingston Coal Company for 25 years. Later, he was active in a number of independent mining companies. After working with the Materiel department of the U.
