Will Retire
After Twenty Years With Royer's
Walter S. Davis, 54 Davenport |
Street, was honored guest at the
annual Royer Foundry Christmas
Party Friday night at O’Connell’s |
Kingston House, along with Joseph |
Swoyersville, Both |
men will retire from service with |
the Foundry on December 29, Mr.
Davis after twenty years employ-
ment, Mr. Kasmeroski, after twenty
four. Each was presented with an
engraved gold watch, gift of the
directors of the company, their
wives with corsages of red roses and |
silverware by fellow employees,
assembled from
parts used by each man and from
the machines each operated, were |
also presented,
Gordon Bootes, Hosts
To Children, Families

The Gordon Bootes, Knob Hill, |
had a happy Christmas reunion
| weekend with their children and
families. Tom, serving with the U.S.
Army at Dugway Proving Grounds,
Utah, flew to Chicago, was grounded
by storms, took a train to New York
City and bus home. Captain John M.
Krouse M.D. and wife and son, came
in from Fort Rucker, Alabama. The
Krouses were formerly associated
with the Geisinger Hospital Center
at Danville, Harold Heine Ph. D.,
and wife and three children flew
in from Germany where the Doctor
is doing research in cancer. The
Heines are former Lewisburg resi-
dents where the Doctor was profes-
sor at Bucknell University.
Arrive In England
Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Kocher, Rug-
gles, have received word that their
daughter, Mrs. Harold Birth and
Cynthia and Brodley, have arrived
safely in Cambridge, England, where
they joined Captain Harold C. Birth,
son of the Clyde Births of Trucks-
ville, He is stationed at Alconbury,
Cambridge, England.
The Kochers and the Births took
them to Idlewild Airport when they
left by jet for London.

Mothers Hold Party
, Trucksville Service Mothers and
Wives Club met in the Fire Hall
on Monday night. Mrs. Albert Wil-
liams, Jr., presided at the short
business meeting, Mrs. Herbert Wil-
liam was in charge of the Christmas
program. Fifty cent gifts were ex-
changed. Members and friends at-
tending were: Mesdames Jacob Be-
line; Minerva Benscoter, Clyde
Birth, Leon Beisel, Fred Case, Bruce
Long, Samuel Lawson, Earl Gregory,
Sr., Charles A. Perkins, Eugene

Joins O'Malia‘s F amily
The arrival of a baby boy at |
Mercy Hospital for Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph C. O’Malia, Westmoreland
Trucksvile was their third
baby and they also have a daugh-
ter, Susan.
Born Friday, Dec. 15, Nicholas
O’maha also becomes the 30th
grandchild of Mrs. Thomas J. O-Mal-
1a, whose late husband founded the
O'Mala Laundry and Dry Cleaning
on tne Harvey's Lake Highway.
The Joseph C. O’'Malias’ other
sons are Joseph and Alexander. Mrs.
O'Malia is tne former Helen Bye-
lick of Luzerne.
Among the grandsons of Mrs.
O’Malia are John, Michael, and Jer-
ry (’Malia, sons of Mr. and Mrs.
John O'Malia, Overbrook Ave., Dal-
las Township.
Her grandchildren also include
the five daughters of Mr. and Mrs.
John C. Bush, former residents of
Dallas. They are Betsy, Connie, Mol-
ly, Ellen, and Joan Bush.
Mrs. O’'Malia’s other grandchildren
are Ned, Thomas, .-Paul, Patrick,
Mark, Mary, and Ann O’Malia, child-
ren of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin (Bud)
O’Malia, Kingston; Alvin, Carol Ann
and Terry Snyder, children of Mrs.
Alvin Snyder, the former Margaret
O’Malia, residents of Hazleton; Bon-
nie, Barbara, Timmy, and Joseph

Mrs. Kearns is the former Annette

Mrs. O’'Malia also has three great

and Shawn O’'Malia, Painted Post,
N.Y.
Denise Jean Remley
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Remley, Fern-
brook, announce the birth of a
twelve pound, one ounce baby girl,
Denise Jean, at General Hospital
on December 25. This is their first
child. Mrs. Remley is the former
Mrs. Albert Agnew of Sweet Val-
ley.

Morris Kings Are Married
Forty-Four Years Christmas Day
The Morris King family, E. Center
Street has had a double celebration
in the past week. The Kings were
married forty-four years ago at
La Porte by Rev. Vaughn Davies in
the Episcopal Church. They are the
parents of six children: Ernest, Leh-
man; Dorothy Breeden, Falls Church,
Va.; Alberta Reilly, Darby; Earl,
Shavertown; James, Stroudsburg and
Mary Stanko, Old Bridge, N. J. They
have a total of eleven grandchildren.
Their daughter, Mary Stanko, and
their son-in-law, Joseph Stanko,
were married thirteen years ago
yesterday.
Mr. King retired from the teach-
ing profession in 1949 after having
taught in Dallas Township and Jack- |
son Township schools for many
years. He and his wife have resided
in the Back Mountain Area for
thirty-eight years and have sub-
scribed to the Dallas Post at least
fifteen of those years.

morning service. Mrs. Fred Wil-
liams, member of the senior choir

mother, sponsored the child, leav-
ing the choir for a few moments to
hold the baby.
Sgt. McDonald,
was in the christening party.
The little family was in Trucks-
ville for the holiday. Sgt. McDonald,
his wife, the former Nancy Williams,
son, Jeffrey Dale, 4, and baby Linda
Jean, started back early Tuesday
morning over snowy roads ‘en route
to South Carolina.
Upon Sgt. McDonald’s return after
a six month cruise of the Mediter-
ranean with 3rd Btn, 6th Marines,
he received a promotion to Gy. |
Sgt. E.7 from his commanding of-
ficer Col. Halton, in recognition of
thirteen years of exceptional serv-
ice with the Marine Corps. For a
time, he was NCO in charge of re- |
cruiting in Wyoming Valley.
