Biggest Deer
Sweet Valley Fish and Game Pro-
tective Association offered a five
dollar award to any member bag-
ging a deer between December 4
and December 12 having the widest
antler spread. J
The winner was William Stock,
Oakdale Road, whose one hundred-
fifty pound buck was shot on Tues-
day, December 5, near Pritchards
Corner. The antler spread was
sixteen inches, Joseph = Wengyn,
| Plymouth, butchered and prepared
| it for freezing. The association has
| elected the following officers:—Ho-
! ward Post, President; Peter Burnu-
ski, Vice President; William I.
Lamoreaux, Treasurer; Charles Re-
gulski, Recording Secretary; Harold
Briggs, Corresponding ‘Secretary.

B. Kirby Jones has been ill with an
infected throat.
Mrs. Nettie Post spent the week-
end with her son-in-law and daugh-
ter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Long. On
Thursday Mrs. Post visited with Mr.

Ferris Raqberts, Jr. bagged an
eight-point buck in the Moorestown

visited the latter's brother, Guy
Lynn, who is hospitalized, Mr.

to his left army while at work.

Douglas Trumbower, student at
Penn State University, is home for
Christmas with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Ord Trumbower.
The condition of Mrs. Anna Ho-
over at General Hospital remains
fair. Mrs. Hoover fractured her hip
three weeks ago. ‘She is the mother
of Mrs. Ralph Naugle and aunt of
Mrs. Luther Hunter. She would en-
joy receiving cards.
Mr. and Mrs. Arden Hunter,
Francis and Linda, Baltimore, spent
Monday and Tuesday with Arden’'s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Hun-
ter, Arden’s wife Raiko, formerly
from Japan, expects to receive her
citizenshin' papers within the next
two months,
Maple Grove Methodist Church
had its Christmas program Sunday
evening. Santa arrived and dis-
tributed gifts and candy. Rev.
James M, Garrahan is Pastor.
Albert Smith spent the weekend
at home with Mrs. Smith, Bob and
Darwin. He is self-employed, haul-
ing cars for Great Lakes Forward-
| ing Co. :

Silkworth, observed her sixteenth
birthday last week. She is a popu-

Auxiliary of Sweet Valley Volun-
teer Fire Co. held its Christmas
marty Saturday evening.
Trumbower entertained with a
reading and two poems, games were

arrived with gifts for all. Attending
were Mr. and Mrs. David Evans,
Sr.; Mr. and Mrs. David Bvans, Jr.,
Amy Jo, David III, and Daryl; Mr.
and Mrs. Russell Major: Mrs. Mich-
ael Maransky; Mrs. Richard Daven-
port, Sr.: Mrs. Delbert Meade, and
Delores Trumbower.
New officers are, Mrs. Cletus Hol-
comb, Jr., President: - Mrs. Michael
Maransky, Vice President; Mrs. Har-
old Briggs, Secretary; Mrs. Ord
Trumbower, Treasurer; Mrs. Rich-
ard Davenport, Sr. and Mrs. Charles
Masters. Women of the area are
invited to attend the meetings
which are held the first Thursday of
each month.
The Firemen have elected these
officers for the coming year. Loren

day shopoing in Easton and also

The recently re-organized Cub
Pack 444 will have its first meeting
January 3. Hills of Hope will be
used as a dividing line, with those
living on the Sweet Valley side
meeting at Church of Christ hall,
and those living on the opposite
side meeting at Maple Grove Meth-
