The All-Star Tourney came to
a close Sunday with Doc O’Con-
nell, Ashley, taking Wyoming
Valley championship with 76.06
points. Congratulations go to
Charlie Williams, however, who
led for thirteen games in the six-
teen game contest.
(Charlie came very close to
bringing another victory home to
Crown Imperial Tanes. The de-
fending champion lost the last
two games to Doc and dropped to
4 third place with 73.04 points. Joe
Charnetsky, Tuzerne, furnished
second ~with 74.08.
O'Connell, 24 years of age, will
compete against champions from
other regions at Pittsburgh, Nov-
ember 3-4-5 for the state title. If
he should win he will travel to
the national tourney at Miami in
January.
Charles Else, also of Crown
Imperial, finished with 68.35.

According to Roy Stair, Al
Bellas had enought 600 series
for a while and it was his
turn to take honors in Crown
Major League. Roy bowled a
beautiful 620 series (205-
231) Friday, only to f md that
his own brother-in-law beat
him by just 3 pins, with
games of 191-224-208. Roy's
series was his first 600 this
season although he had come
close twice with 598 and 599.
Al has six on record, h'tting
one of them (636) Wednes-
day in Churzh League. No
justice, Roy! Dis-own Al!

Hike And Pony Ride

enjoyed a hobo hike on Saturday,
going by truck to the Mary Hudak
residence on Overbrook Avenue,
then for a walk through the woods |

again, they had a pony ride at Mrs.
Andrew Ondish’s place.
