ceding the monthly meeting of the
Auxiliary to Jonathan R. Davis Fire

business meeting.

in New Haven, Conn. Mr, Lee told
police he had stepped out for a few

Jane Conner Grant has word that
her husband, Captain Gordon E.
Grant, will return from Korea in
December and will be stationed at
Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana.
Captain Grant was promoted in
July. Mrs. Grant and their infant
daughter have been staying with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin
Conner, Huntsville, during Capt.
Grant's stay in Korea.
William Conyngham has returned
home after attending the Cattle
Congress at Waterloo, Towa.
David Cooper, five year old son
of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Cooper,
Chase Road has chicken pox.
VIOLENTLY 'ILL
Grant Cooper, son of Chief of
Police and Mrs. Robert Cooper,
was taken violently ill while at
work Tuesday at Ross Williams’
Sunoco Gas Station, but man-
aged to call his mother who
with her son, Gary, was able
to get him into their car and
drive home, only to have him
pass out on the ktchen floor,
where a physician examined
him and had him rushed to
Wilkes-Barre General Hospital
in Kingston Township ambu-
lance.
X-Rays were taken and he
underwent surgery immediately
for a serious condition of lower
bowls. Grant’s condition is
somewhat improved but it was
touch and go for a couple of
days.
Jackson Township Firemen’s An-
nual Fall Festival and Turkey Sup-
per will be held Saturday, October
21. John Krupa is chairman of
ticket sales, of which some are avail-
able. Fred Gabel, chairman of pro-
duce stands, is seeking donations
of produce.
Mrs. Mary Ashton is home after
six months visiting her daughter.
She was honored at a birthday
party cook out held by her children.
She also received birthday greet-
ings at the meetings of Jackson
Methodist W.S.C.S. and Jackson
Firemen’s Auxiliary. Welcome home
and belated birthday greetings, Mrs.

just returned home after a four-
months visit in Norway where she
