Mt. Zion
In passing over the cross-road
from our Mt. Zion road to the Car-
verton-Mt. Zion road I noted some-
one working at the new house. So
I stopped in for a visit.
‘The house belongs to Joseph
(Bud) Perry, son of Dave Perry who
lives wp on the corner. Bud re-
turned from Italy about 3 months
ago and is getting his house finished
to live in very soon. He works in
the Air Products Company in
Wilkes-Barre.
The new oak floors were a beauti-
ful thing to see. I love nice wood
grains such as oak has. Artistic
plastering on walls and ceilings. A
pull-down ladder to the attic adds
to compact convenience. Bud will
have a place to be proud of.
Since Bud’s sister, Betty Perry
MacDonald and family live in the
new house next door (with a swim-
ming pool in the side yard!) the
road might well be called the Perry
Hill Road.
From, there I- went on to stop in
at the Rev. Ralph Weatherly’s to
return some magazines he loaned.
Friend Weatherly keeps me supplied
with reading matter and his own
friendly smiles. There I found a yard
full of his grandchildren, for visiting
there at Happy Hill were Mr. and
Mrs. Hobart Tallmadge and children
Lynn, Tad, Swzanne and.Sally from
Glen Ridge N. JMrs. Tallmadge is
a daughter of Rev. and Mrs.
Weatherly.
Tt was good, too, to have a chat
with Mr, and Mrs. Russell Lewis
down at the foot of the hill on Sut-
ton Creek road. Russell was seen
to begin harvesting oats and toma-
toes. Blanchg had entertained Mrs.
‘Wm. Boyd of Wyoming one day.
Also she reported progress on her
brother Frank Parrish of near
South Montrose who is convalescing
from a recent serious operation.
