Mrs. Margaret W. Thomas,
Shavertown, wife of Owen M.
Thomas, was buried in Fern Knoll |
Cemetery Monday morning. She was
the sister of John E. Williams,
owner of the Ben Franklin Store
and the late Mrs. Mary Sowden of
Shavertown.
Mrs. Thomas, who has been in|
poor health for the past four years, |
died at her home in ‘Shavertown.
and bookkeeper for twenty-two
years, she remained on the payroll
until her death, working when she
was able.
The deceased was born in Wilkes-
Barre and resided in Parsons be-
fore moving to this area five years
ago.
Mrs. Thomas was a. member “of
Shavertown Methodist Church and

Visits Jungle Gardens
Mr. and Mrs. Ben L. Jenkins of
149 Lehigh Street, Trucksville, en-
joyed a visit to Sarasota Jungle
Gardens during their recent vaca-
tion on Florida's Lower West Coast
The visitors mingled with flamingos
and other rare wildfowl from every
continent roaming freely in these
world-famous Gardeng Other points
of interest in Jungle Gardens were
hundreds of unusually colorful trop-
ical plantings, huge Royal Palms
bordering jungle trails, and brilliant
macaws and “cocatoos which pose
