Mrs. Andrew Denmon and Mrs.
Earl Monk, Dallas, spent last week-
end at Asbury Park where they

mon. Warren will teach at Asbury
Pairk this winter.
OMr. and Mrs. Charles Nafus, Hill-
side, Trucksville announce the birth
of an eight pound son. The baby
was born at 7:10 on August 17, at
Nesbitt Memorial Hospital. Mrs.
Nafus is the former Delores Jean
Saraka.
Mr. and Mrs. John Girvan, Lake
Street, had as Sunday dinner guests
Mrs. David Girvan of Nanticoke,
with her daughters Mrs. A. C. West-
erhof of DesMoines, Iowa; Mrs. A.
C. Cummings of Abingdon, Virginia,
and also Mrs. Thomas Kepner of
Brooklyn, who has been spending
the past several weeks at the Girvan
home.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peterson,
Norton Avenue returned after spend-
ing two weeks with their families
at Quincy, Mass., and Prince Xd-
ward Island. While they were gone
Ann and Joe spent several days in

The reunion will be held next

On Ten Day Furlough
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Eckerd, Ha-
wail, are spending a ten day fur-
lough with parents and family, Mr.
and Mrs. Peter Eckerd, Loyalville.
Mrs. Eckerd is the former Aiko
Vechi, born in Hawaii, daughter of
Mr. and the late Mrs. Matsuju
Vechi. She has taught English for
eight years in Levittown, the Car-
olinas and her native country.
The couple left Monday for Me-
dina, N. Y. where they will visit
Mr. Eckerd’s brother, Robert and
George and his sister, Caroline and
families. Then they go by way of
Canada to Camp Minot where they
will be stationed for some time.
Mr. Eckerd has also taken up
teaching and is now a student
teacher.

Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Didjulis,
Carverton Road, R. D. 3, Wyoming,
Pa., celebrated their 16th Wedding
Anniversary at High Point Inn, Mt.
Pocono, recently.
The couple was married in St.
Theresa’s Church, Shavertown, by
the Rev. J. J. O'Leary, August 16,
1945.
Mrs. Didjulis is the former Cath-
erine C. McGahren daughter of the
late Attorney John and Mrs. John
McGahren.
Mr. Didjulis is retired from the
United States Air Force, having
served 23 years and presently is
self employed at his residence in
the upholstery business.

the marriage of Alice Shortz to Rod-
erick K. Davis, Saturday afternoon
at 2, August 19. Reverends Dr.
Russell Hawke and Robert Ger-
mond officiated. Leona Austin played
the wedding music and Mrs. Gorg-
iena Love was soloist.
Miss Shortz chose Marygrace
Cooney, Wilkes-Barre, as her maid
of honor and bridesmaids, Sallie

aboard the U.S.S. Wood County,
which will ship out for the Medit-
erranean, September 11.
While her husband is in service,
Mrs. Coolbaugh will stay with her
parents at their home on Maple-
wood Heights.
