Antique Lovers Gather
For Ellsworth Auction
It looked like Old Home Week up
at the Ellsworth sale of china and
fine glass last week, with all the
Library Auction fans gathered to
watch the bidding and revel in the
sight of cranberry glass and treas-
| ures collected over ‘the years by a
man who was never able to bring
himself to part with them, but
whose increasing ill health man-
dated it.
Spotted in the audience gathered
in the big tent on Ellsworth Hill,
and enjoying the beautiful sum-
mer weather, on the first day of
the four-day sale, were Mr. and
Mrs. Russell Frantz, Mrs. Charles
Frantz, Mrs. Harold Titman, Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Lamb of the Lamp-
House, Mrs. Ornan Lamb, Mrs.
Thomas Hillyer, Mr. and Mrs. Fred

lotte Cardon, Sarah Carey, Mr. and |
Mrs. Raymon Hedden, Dorothy
Baker, Helen Gross, Mrs. John Wil-
| son, Margaret Wood in her Auction
Heffernan, and many others from
the Back Mountain.
Dealers abounded. A few per-
sonal friends of the Ellsworths
were admitted to the house, but in
most instances the rule was en-
forced that articles to be sold were
shown under the tent, and a new
supply was brought out for sale on
.each of the four days.
