Mr. and Mrs. Edgar L. Holbrook,
former residents of Williamsport
are now residing in Gulfport, Miss.,
where Mr. Holbrook is managing
a garment factory. The Holbrooks,
who were associated with Weldon
Manufacturing Co. in Williamsport
were frequent week end visitors
in the Back Mountain area.
Mrs. Elizabeth Conaghan, Tyrone
is spending some time at the home
of her son and daughter-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Conaghan,
Trucksville. She arrived here to care
for the older Conaghan children
while mother and baby Erin are
in Nesbitt Hospital.
Mrs. Samuel Bronson, of North
Lake, suffered a heart attack at her
home on Thursday evening. She was
taken by ambulance to the Nes-
bitt Hospital with Alfred D. Bron-
son in charge. At the time of this
writing she was responding to treat-
ment and feeling somewhat better.
Mrs. Charles T. Huey, Sr; and
son Bill and daughter, Mrs. Dale
Glover ‘and children, Carol Denise
and Nicky, Connellsville, have re-
turned to their home after visiting
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry
L. Martin, Harris Hill Road, Trucks-
ville. While here, they were enter-
tained at dinners at the homes of
Mr. and Mrs. Albert L.Ray, Sweet
Valley and Mr. and Mrs. John
Martin, Trucksvillee Mrs. Huey is
a sister to Mrs. Harry Martin.

Road, Sweet Valley, entertained the

After dinner, Mr. Loren Case showed
slides of his recent trip through
the New England States. Calling
at the Alva (Case home on Saturday
were Mr. and Mrs. George Koons
and daughters Dianne and Madeline.
Mrs. Felicia Castellani, who has
been a medical patient at Nanti-
coke State Hospital for the past
two’ weeks, is showing some im-
provement.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Coslett and
daughter Ellen are vacationing at
the summer home of the former's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Coslett,
North Lake. The Carl Cosletts are
residents of Whaleywville, Virginia.
Jean and Nancy Drapiewski,
daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Carl V.
Drapiewski, Sweet Valley are spend-
ing the summer as counselors at the
Little Flower Camp. Jean is teach-
ing tennis and Nancy is coaching
basketball. The girls expect to re-
turn home in about two weeks.
Mark Oplinger, Mountaintop, a
former Sweet Valley resident, is
visiting at the Joseph Kipp home
this week. Cynthia Kipp is guest
of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Nicholas Kozemchak, Wilkes-Barre.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Flynn, Pikes
Creek will leave today for Bruns-
wick, Maine where they will visit
their son and daughter-in-law Lt.
(jg) and Mrs. Rutledge Flynn before
going on to Quebec where they will
meet their daughter, Catherine to
accompany her home. Catherine has
been attending classes in French at
La Barr University for the past six
weeks.
Attending Sky Lake Camp in
‘Windsor, N. Y. this week are Con-
nie Kisk, Karen Covert, Donna Bron-
son and Jimmie Pall, all of Sweet
Valley.
Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Furman Jr,
North Lake were pleasantly sur-
prised last week with a visit from
the latter's cousin, Robert Barr,
Leesville, Va., and his parents Mr.
and Mrs. Edward Barr, Shamokin.

this week at the Furman home are

Davenport of Sweet Valley.
Mrs. Stanley Shinder and sons,
Danny and Michael, Bloomfield, N.J,
are spending a week as guests of the
Harold Briggs family. Mr. Shinder,
who drove the family up, returned
home on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. George Bray spent
the past week end in Wilton, Conn.
as guests of Mrs. Bray's sister and
brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ham-
ilton Marshal., Mrs. Marshal and
daughter, Libby returned with the
Brays and will visit in this area for
the next two weeks, when Mr.
Marshall will arrive to spend a

Paul Thomas, Harvey's Lake, rec-
ently spent a week as guest of
his mother while his wife and son,
Brian Paul visited Sgt. and Mrs.

dra will vacation this week in the

Jones’ family, Mr. and Mrs. James

Clark Piatt, Mrs. Emma Davenport,

To celebrate his birthday on Au-
gust 4, Jerry Shilanski took his
grandmother, Mrs. Walter Kyttle
and drove to Ocean Grove, N. J., to
visit his mother, Mrs. Glendoris
Shilanski, who is employed at the
La Pierre Hotel. The front porch
of the hotel overlooks Wesley Lake
and the side porch, the Atlantic
Ocean. While there, Mrs. Kyttle
was privileged to attend services ‘at
the Methodist Auditorium which
has the largest pipe organ in the
world and a seating capacity of
10,000 people.

Lewis
daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clin-
ton Kyttle have arrived in Finley,
South Dakota, from Rome, N. Y.
They saw the sights through seven
states on the way.
An all day birthday party was
held on August 1st for Shirley Bry-
ant at the home of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Burt Bryant, Jr. [Those
attending were; Wendy Allen, Joyce
Kocher, Christine Harvilla, Nancy
Skrovonsky, Ruth Donsavage and
daughter, Amy Jo and Grandma
Cooper.
Mr. and Mrs. Lyle King have
| announced the birth of a 9 1b. 10 oz.
| daughter, Susan, born August 8 in
| Nesbitt Hospital.
