Antique Glass Lovers Have Treat In Store Ellsworth Collection Will Go On Sale At Meshoppen Next Week One of the largest, if not the larg- est, collections of antique glass in northern Pennsylvania will be put up for auction next week starting Wednesday at 10 a.m. and continu- ing for four days at the Craig Hill Farm of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Ells- worth, six miles from Meshoppen. * Included will be all of the glass collected and held intact by Mr. Elsworth over a period of thirty years. Dealers who have known of the collection and been impressed by its beauty and scope have been unable over the years to' persuade Mr. Elsworth to sell any of it. Now in failing health he hag de- ¢ided to dispose of it. The Ells- worths are the parents of Joseph Ellsworth, Lehman High . School teacher. : Mr. and Mrs. Ray Shiber of Dal- las who are noted for their own collection of glass, say that the Ells- worth collection: is one of the finest and most complete to be found any- where. Especially noteworthy are the hundreds of pieces of bisque aug- mented by green, amber, vaseline, amethyst in many patterns including early wild flower in plates, gob- lets, compotes, decanters and cruets. [Pitchers and tumbler sets include milk glass, frosted, log cabin, green and gold, red and gold, carnival, cut glass, bliw enameled, green enam- eled red block enameled cranberry, hob nail, three face and many others. “A. H. Heller will be the auction- eer, Because of the illness of both; Mr. end Mrs. Ellsworth there will bel no prevue. The merchandise to be sold each day will be on display in a large tent. A cattle dealer and farmer, Mr. llsworth always enjoyed showing is collection to friends rather than selling odd pieces. Bearing a striking resemblance to Abraham; Lincoln, he was a familiar figure at all country auctions throughout Northeastern Pennsyl- vania where he earned a reputa- tion for going tha limit for items that sruck his fancy. she¢ abandoned {* # Junior Teeners Rll-Stars Farley, Ob a, LER gE with no player getting more hak | ea Mekeel, p occ...
