The 48th annual Crispell Reunion
will be held Saturday, at Alpha Dy-
mond’s grove, Noxen. A basket lunch
at noon will be followed by the bus-
iness meeting. ;
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gelsleichter,
Jr. and Brenda and Diane of Har-
ris ‘Street, spent a week: in Niagara
Falls, Thousand Islands and points
of interest in Canada.
Mr. and Mrs. George Shaver, Jr.,
George, Tommy and Alan of Over-
brook Avenue spent a week's vaca-
tion. in Highbridge, and Atlantic
City, N. J. visiting relatives.
Closing exercises of the Daily Va-
cation Bible ,School of the Glenview
P. M. (Church will be held on Sun-
day evening at 7:30. There has been
an average of 62 children each day.
The winning class will be treated to a
trip to Lake Arrowhead, N. Y. on
Saturday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Borzone, De-
munds Road, entertained in honor
of their daughter Mary Louise on
her third birthday, Thursday.

Mickey Witek has returned home
after a week at Nesbitt Hospital
where he underwent treatment
Sheila (Shaffer, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Donnell Shafer, will be married
to Joseph Abate, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Leonard Abate, Pittston, at the
Assembly of God Church, Moosic,
on Saturday afternoon at four. Fol-
lowing the wedding the Shaffers will
hold open house at their home at
Chase Manor to which friends are
cordially invited. They have issued
no invitations.

arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
William R. Hughes, Saturday night,

ler’s husband Pvt. Daniel Kistler,
who is stationed at Fort Sill in Ok-
lahoma on active duty with the
109th National Guard. Mrs. Kistler
will remain with her husband sev-

Bruce Peters Is Honored By Family,
Bruce Peters Birch Grove, who
recently celebrated his seventy-fifth
birthday anniversary, was honored
at a garden party given by his fam-
ily at the home of his son-in-law
and daughter Mr. and Mrs. David
Agnew in Plymouth.

Cutten Named To Committee
William F. Cutten, Bunker Hill,
will serve a one year term as a
member of the Adult Welfare Serv-
ices Committe named by the County
Commissioners at their meeting last
week. The committee will function
in an advisory capacity to the Coun-
ty Commissioners as directors of
Luzerne County Institution District.
Mrs. Loretta Smith, Bartonsville,
N. Y., is visiting her mother, Mrs.
Louise Sanderson, Harris Hill Road.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Sellers,
Carverton Road returned after vis-
iting their daughters, Marline and
Ellen, at Troy, N. Y. They also
vacationed at Atlantic City, N. J.

City, N. J., where they visited their

From there they will go to Charles-

bitt Hospital on Wednesday of last
week.
Party For Earl Gregory, Jr.
A surprise birthday party was
given Earl Gregory, Jr., at his home
Saturday night by members of his
family and friends. The group en-
joyed an evening of fun roaming
about the fields of the farm. Earl
and his wife recently purchased the
farm from Mrs. Dorothy Hoover.
Guests numbered twenty six.

and Mrs. Weber, is the assistant to
Dr. R. C. Post, Memorial Highway.
Jackie Martin, son of Mr. and
Mrs. John J. Martin, Stafford St.,
Trucksville, spent several days last
week with his cousin, Randy Kevin
Ray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert L.
Ray, Sweet Valley.
Karen Young, Lake Silkworth,
spent the past weekend visiting
friends in Dallas.
Mr. and Mrs. William Boyd, Allen-
town, and children, Becky and
Tommy, are vacationing at North
Lake. The Boyds are former Back
Mountain residents. Mr. Boyd is
associated with the Atlantic Refin-
ing Company.

is spending the week as the guest

ville, recently. The Witts were
enroute home after honeymooning
in New York City and Atlantic City.

Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Schlack
and children, Patsy, Ann and Tony,
Jr., former Back Mountain resi-
dents, now residing in Plainfield,
N. J., spent a week visiting friends
and relatives in the area.
Feted On First Birthday
Rev. and Mrs. B. Kirby Jones II,
Main Road, Sweet Valley, were
hosts to a group of lively young
friends who arrived the afternoon
of July 21, to help little B. Kirby III
celebrate his first birthday. Center-
piece was a beautiful birthday cake.
Enjoying the fun were, Craig and
Brenda Edwards, Abby Lee and
Billy Thomas, Sandra Steinruck,
Jeffery Thomas, Miralee Beth Long,
Keith (Culver, Marsha George, Mark
and Ruth Perkins, the honoree and
his parents.
Robert Koval, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Peter Koval, Allentown, spent the
past week as the guest of his cousin,
Gerard Kipp, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Kipp, Sweet Valley.
Mrs. Robert J. Lavelle and chil-

and Kevin of Dallas visited friends
at North Lake on Tuesday.

Valley, was the guest of his uncle,

Giant’s Despair Races. Mr. Martin’s
home is located at the starting line

recently enjoyed a vacation at Lake
Winola.
