Sorry! We Gilberts had little |
time to pick up Mt. Zion news over |
the weekend. We all drove to]
Spring Hill on the Wyalusing charge |
and at the invitation of the Gerald
Shumways had’ supper and spent
the night there under their gracious
hospitality. The Shumways live on
the ancestral land which was land |
grant from Revolutionary days.
Family is strong in church and |
community and
preached first in the morning at
Hollenbeck where Ruth has some
relatives. They invited us for sup-
per with them for Sunday after-
noon. The second preaching point
was Wyalusing itself and finally at | 8
Spring Hill where the girls mean-
while had attended Sunday School
where Dottie was primed with ques-
tions.
Even clear over there at Spring
Hill I found people who knew and
‘admired our pastor Reid who used
to be at Camptown. And Wesley
Lewis was well known to. the men’s |,
groups. Methodism is'a great con-
nection.
