Zion Not much chance to pick up news this week. I made the rush of going from ome to the other churches of this parish last Sunday, beginning at Carverton at nine and from there to Orange and then to Mt. Zion. Was late getting to Orange, still later to Mt. Zion. Enjoyed preaching on my . {old parish again. Rev. William Reid is spending this week as counsellor at Sky .Lake, beginning last Saturday. That is why I was taking his services. It was good to see all the folks face to face but mot much time to visit. At Mt. Zion I was glad to see Keith Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Smith. Keith's wife was with him and two children. Keith was one of the little fellows when I was pas- tor. His mother, Myrtle Smith, was celebrating her birthday last Sun- day. Well, our Phoebe eggs have finally hatched. I am not sure whether all five came out or just four. {Our neighbors down the road, the Leon Emanuels, were away for the holidays and week-end. Next Sunday we three drive to Newark Valley to supply the pulpit there. Jacqueline Van Tuyle and Hal Seiple are attending Junior Camp at Sky Lake Methodist Camp this week. Dorothy Gilbert left last Friday to attend a medical conference in New York and left there on Monday to be a speaker at a young people's and women’s camps in the Pittsburg Methodist Conference at Jumon- | ville. Janet Dymond, Jean Emanuel, Catherine Gilbert, Mildred Lloyd and Marjorie Seiple participated in the program which was concerned with the plight of refugees. Festivi- ties ‘started off with a square dance Monday gvening. A giant parade at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning followed by the main event. Harold Coolbaugh was general chairman of the event and certainly deserves a great deal credit for organization. Commit- tees worked diligently for many months to make the show the best ever. Another event soon to be held, Annual Flower Show, sponsored by Friendship Class, Lehman Methodist Church August 19. To be held in newly remodeled and enlarged Leh- man Fire Hall. This is one of the most interesting facets, bringing numerous original entries. With deep regret we note the death of one of Lehman’s older residents, Oliver Whitesell.
