Rochester, N. Y., June 12, Donald
L. Knaub, son of Mr. and Mrs. M.
L. Knaub, Shavertown RD 2, re-
ceived a Master of Music degree at
the 111th annual commencement of
University of Rochester on Sunday,
June 11 At the same commence-
ment, Paul A. Balshaw, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Clifford Balshaw, R.D.1,
Dallas, received a Performer’s Cer-
tificate in Voice. Both took their
work in the University’s Eastman
School of Music.
Knaub, who holds a Bachelor of
| Music from Eastman, is on the fac-
ulty of the Eastman School’s Trom-
bone Department.
Balshaw studied in Pennsylvania
State University and received a
B. Mus. from Eastmen. He is cur-
rently studying for a Master's de-
gree.
Nash Rambler Station
Wagon To Be Sold
A Nash Rambler station wagon will
go over the block Saturday night.
It may be seen on the Library Auc-
tion grounds. A number of prospect-
ive customers have already signified
interest in this latest addition to the
Fifteenth Annual Memorial Library
Auction.
Auction Will Offer
Valuable Dachshund
A four-year old red male dach-
shund given by Ed. Eber will go over
the block at the Library Auction.
All-Star 'is a stud dog of AKC reg-
istry, brother to the dog that Jack
Stanley bought at the Auction. An
exra inducement is that Ed will give
the purchaser of the dog a pup out
of any litter which All- Star sires.

On Auction Grounds
Chances on the Corvair will be
on sale at the Auction Grounds to-
night, and Friday and Saturday.
Convenient booths have been ar-
| ranged. The car itself has been on
display in many spots in the area.

| grounds for the three days of the
Fifteenth Annual Sale.

veys Lake Lions, installed James
C. Thomas as president, Harold
Davis was installed as vice presi-
dent; Richard Q. Myers, second
with mink collar. .
Westmoreland Key [Club Drill
Team again took top honors, march-
ing in the Mansfield Fourth of
July parade. Junior High drill
team, captained by Marsha Sowden,
and Westmoreland Colorettes bear-
ing the big flag, also took honors.
Units travelled by bus, arriving
at Mansfield at 10:30 and taking
their places, widely separated, in
the parade which started at 11.
Wellsboro band, which took top
rank at the Wellsboro Laurel Fes-
tival, where units from Westmore-
land also marched, was a featured
attraction, setting the tempo for a
festive occasion.
Local boys and girls enjoyed the
carnival at Mansfield Park after the
parade, returning by bus early in
the evening.
Accompanying the students were
George McCutcheon, Mr. and Mrs.
Percy Love, Mrs. “Speed” Elston,
and Betty Grose, newly installed
secretary to William A. Austin,
elementary school supervisor.

SOLVES MYSTERY
An unopened parachute lying by
the. skeleton of a flyer lost ‘in the
Adirondacks last December, solved
the mystery which until Tuesday |
surrounded the disappearance of
S/Sgt. Pierre Maheaux, brother of |
Mrs.
Road.
While the other seven crew mem-
