patient at Nesbitt Hospital where
she submitted to surgery on Thurs-
day.

family have moved from Lake

Married Fifty Years
Mrs. Jack Magee, Perrin Avenue,
Shavertown, and Mrs. Earl Bailey,
Pricé Street, Scranton, will enter-
tain at a dinner Friday night, hon-
oring their parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Floyd Ogin, Plymouth, who will
celebrate their golden wedding an-
niversary on Monday, July 3.
© Mrs. Ogin is the former Josephine
LaBarr of Plymouth. Mr. Ogin,
born in Slocum, was a harness
maker as a young man. Later he
was employed by Glen Alden, Bos-
ton D. and H., then at Avondale
~as fireman.
The couple was married by the
late Rev. William Blair, pastor of
First Methodist Church, on July 3,
1911, There are six children: Harry,
deceased; Raymond and Robert,
Plymouth; Carl,” Baron, . Calif;
Madeline Magee, Shavertown; Eliz-
abeth Bailey, Scranton; also fifteen
grandchildren and four great-.

MRS. LARRY FARR
Barbara Ann Cooney, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Cooney,
Pikes Creek, recently became the
bride of Larry William Farr, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Farr, Dal-
las. Reverend Francis Kane, pastor
of the Gate of Heaven Church, per-
formed the double ring ceremony on
June 3. Patricia Mastalski played
the wedding music. '
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a gown of white
chantilly lace over satin, featuring
a sequin and pearl sabrina neckline
and bell-shaped skirt with a scal-
loped hemline. Adorning it was a
small satin ribbon beneath the
waistline in the back. The bride's
veil of imported bridal illusion was
attached to a crown of orange
blossoms and she carried a bou-
quet of white roses and carnations
with white satin ribbon streamers.
Phyllis Evanchyk, Ashley, class-
“mate of the bride, attended as maid
- of honor. She wore a pink eyelet
sheath and matching veiled hat. She
carried pink roses and carnations
with pink satin ribbons streamers.

Mother of the bride was attired
in a lavender silk dress with laven-
der accessories. Each mother wore a
corsage of white orchids.
Following the nuptials, friends
and relatives were entertained. at
a reception at the bride’s home.
The bride chose a two-piece jer-
sey knit suit in lavender for travel-
ing. White accessories and a cor-
sage of white baby ‘orchids accen-
tuated her outfit. j
Mrs. Farr was graduated: from
Wyoming Seminary and is a sen-
ior student nurse at Wilkes-Barre
General Hospital School of Nurs-
ing. The bridegroom is a graduate
of Westmoreland High School. He
is presently stationed -at Pope Air
Force Base in North Carolina. The
bride will join her husband after
completion of her training in Aug-
ust.
She was feted at a variety shower:
given by her classmates and an
aunt, Marion Disque.
Marian Theresa Flenchik Weds
John Edward Kern On June 10
Gate of Heaven (Church, Machell
Avenue, Dallas, was the setting rec-
ently for the lovely June wedding
of Marian Theresa Elenchik, daugh-
ter of Mr, and Mrs. John P. Elen-
chik, West Overbrook Avenue, Dal-
las, and John E. Kern, son of Mrs.
Marion A. Kern, Memorial Highway,
Harveys Lake and the late Edwin
H. Kern.
Before the altar banked with vas-
es of white gladioli and blue ma-
jestic daisies, Rev. Francis A. Kane,
pastor, performed the double ring
ceremony and celebrated the Nup-
tial Mass, John Elenchik, brother of
the bride, and Thomas Hudak,
cousin of . the bride served as
altar boys. The bride placed a
bouquet of white and blue carna-
tions on the altar of the Blessed
Virgin. ¥
Mrs. Robert Laux was organist
and Mrs. William Carroll, soloist.
Escorted to the altar and given
in marriage by her father, the bride
wore gown of finest silk taffeta with
close fitted bodice and long sleeves
tapered at the wrist. The full
skirt of unpressed pleats terminated
in a chapel train. Her bouffant four
tiered fingertip veil of silk illusion
fell from a crown of seed pearls
studded with rhinestones and she
carried a Colonial bouquet of white
roses with streamers of shattered
carnations.
Miss Eleanor Ann Elenchik, sis-
ter of the bride, was maid of honor.
She was attired in gown of blue pure
silk organza over taffeta, styled with
fitted bodice, open portrait neckline,
and cap sleeves. The bouffant skirt
was complemented by a back de-
tail of shirred blue organza styled
with blue satin rosettes. Her head-
piece was a blue cabbage rose with
a circular face veil and she carried
a Colonial bouquet of pink majes-
tic daisies. 3
Bridesmaids were Betty Elenchik,
sister of the bride and Mrs. Wil-
liam Allabaugh, both of Dallas. Their
gowns wére identical to that of the
maid of honor in yellow with
matching cabbage rose headpieces.
Both carried bouquets of nafural
majestic daisies.
Paul Malak, (Chase was best man,
and Leon Kern, Lans ’d., broth-
er of the bridegroom, James
Casterline, Idetown, were ushers.
Mother of\the bride chose a dress
of pastel blue with white acces-
sories and corsage of white roses
and mother of the bridegroom, dress
of white and grey, white accessories,
and a corsage of white roses.
Following the ceremony, a wedding
breakfast was held at the home of
the bride for members of the
wedding party and immediate fam-
ily. Dinner and reception for -200
quests was held at five o'clock at
0O’Connells’ Twin ‘Lakes, Harveys
Lake.
