Honored On Birthday

Elmer Hoover at his home on Satur-
day night with sisters and brothers

Helen Crispell, Mrs. Bruce Crispell,
Mrs. Roy Evans, Mrs. Esther Weav-
er, Mr. and Mrs: Ernest Brown, Mr.
and Mrs. Floyd Hoover, Mr. and
Mrs. Lester Hoover and daughter,
Cheryl, Mrs. David Haines and
children Virginia, Barbara, and
David, Mrs. Roxie Hessler, Ruth
Husted, the guest of honor and the
hostesses.
Horseshoe 4-H Club -
Members of Back Mountain Horse-
shoe Club met-on Friday evening
at David Spencer's home, Lehman,
held a business meeting, and
watched a horse while it was being
shod.
Present were: Peggy Houlihan;
president, Tommy Estus, Judy Cris-
pell, Janet Roberts, David Spencer,
Ricky Edwards, Houston Day, Lee
Johnson, Patty Evans, Marg Fiest,
Resia Carroll, Linda Mckeel, Connie
Bogdon, Linda Tag, Mrs. Bogdon, and
Mr. E. V. Chadwick.
Square Dance To Be
‘Monday Night Feature
Mrs. Stuart Marks, shown pro-
senting the trophy in the photo at
the right, has done a fine job of
organizing a delightful evening for
those attending the Western Square
Dance on Moaday evening, July 3,
at the Lehman Horse Show grounds.
Weather permitting, the dance will
be held out of doors following the
Western Horse Show. (Rodeo Races
and Time Events are scheduled for
5 to 9 pam. on Tuesday - Square
Dance, 9 to midnight).
dance will be the selection of a
Rodeo Queen and two attendants;
these girls will ride in the opening
horse show parade on July 4 at
9 am. All young | women attending
the square dance are eligible “to
compete for the honor of “Rodeo
Queen”; judges are as follows: Mrs.
Lyle Slaff, Ed Fielding, Clyde Birth.
Lovely gifts will be presented to the
winners by Charlie Gosart’s store,
Main Highway, Dallas, a portable
victrola for the Queen,
radios for : attendants.
Panky Stolarick’s “Hi-Tones” will
play for both square and modern
dancing. The following members
comprise his band: Johnny Milaus-
Highlight of the outdoor square.
Waldow is
transistor
kas, trumpet; Reese Pelton, piano;
Tom Brogan, saxophone; Gino Mar-
chette, drums; Panky Stolarick, fid-
| dle.
Dancing will be 9 to midnight;
selection of the Rodeo Queen will
take place at 10:30 p.m. In case
of rain, the dance will be held in
the school gymnasium nearby. Ad-
mission is 50 cents each, ¢
‘Mark Gregory
Mr, and Mrs. Stephen R. Waldow,
Niagara Falls, New York. announce
the birth of a son, Mark Gregory,
May 16. They have another son,
Stevie, 2. Mr. Waldow is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Stephen F. Waldow,
E. Mt. Airy Road, Shavertown. Mrs.
the former Patricia
Smith, Niagara Falls.
The senior Smiths went down to
attend the christening, and Mrs.
Waldow spent the week with her
son and his family.
Yeisley Out Of Geisinger
Brent Yeisley, badly injured in a
car crack-up several weeks ago, has |
been discharged from Geisinger
Hospital and is at his home on Main
Road, Shavertown.

Big Pony Classes At Horse Show

shinny ‘will again ride his pony,
Lehman Horse Show on July 4; he
is shown receiving a trophy from
Mrs. Stuart Marks when he took
first place in the class captioned
“Ponies Under 14.2).
There are three pony classes
scheduled. for the July 4th show;
second class after the opening of the
show Tuesday morning will be the
“Lead Line Pony Class”, open to
children 7 years of age and under.’
The pony must be led by an older
person and is judged on suitability,
manners and | kindness; last year
there were 17 entries in this popular
class. -
This year the class
captioned
“Ponies Under 14.2 Hands,” indicat-
ing the size of the pony, will be
divided into A and B divisions to
facilitate judging. Young exhibitors
will show their pony at a walk, trot
and canter. Judging will be based
on gaits, manner and suitability of
pony to riders.
“Park Riding, Ponies,” is Sho
uled for late afternoon, open -to
children 12 years of age and under.
Ponies must be under 14.2 hands.
Riders will be judged on park rid-
ing at a walk, trot and canter. .
In a very few years youngsters
who. are handling their ponies’ so’
expertly will be seen taking the
jump, courses, and riding the gaited
horses as they follow this sport
which they love. ?

DOROTHY MARY TIBUS
Dorothy Tibus, daughter of Mr.
and ‘Mrs. John Tibus, San Diego,
Calif, was graduated from Her-
| bert Hoover High School, San Diego
State College, Greek Theatre, last
Thursday, June 15.
The Tibuses are former Dallas
residents, While living here Dorothy
attended borough schools and Spe-
‘cial classes in Kingston.
Ralph Antrim Family
Are Home On Visit
Major and Mrs. Ralph C. Antrim,
Jr. and children Ralph III and
Anda Lee are visiting the parents
of Mrs. Antrim, Mr. and Mrs. C. os
LaBar at 64 Norton Ave.
The Antrims spent the past year
‘at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas where
Major Antrim graduated from the
United States Army Command and
General Staff College.
They are now enroute to Syra-
cuse, N. Y. where they will live for
the next year, while Ralph studies
for his Master's Degree at Syracuse
University.
