Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jillson and

| Mayme, Syracuse, were recent
guests of Mr. Jillson’s parents, Mr.
and Mrs. John D. Jillson, of Hunts-
ville.
David and Donald Roskos Loyal-
ville. and Kingston, were guests of
‘Wayne Hughes and Ernest Bevan
of Chase Manor last Sunday. David,
a sophomore at Upsala College,
New Jersey, will spend the sum-
mer with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
John Roskos, at their summer
home at Loyalville. }
Ernest Bevan, foster son of Mr.
and Mrs. William - Hughes, Chase
Manor, received his diploma from |
Lake-Lehman High School on June |

tificate from the Wyoming Valley
Technical Institute.
Lehman Township Supervisors
are to be complimented on the
enactment of an ordinance, to
become effective on July 6,
prohibiting minors from con-
suming any liquor, malt or
brewed beverages on premises
Jicensed by the Pennsylvania
Liquor Control Board. This is a
step in the right direction to
reduce the number of our
young peonle who fall victim
to the curse of alcoholism.
The supervisors should follow
through and see that the ordi-
nance is obeyed and really
prosecute cifenders on both
sides of the bar. The super-
visers in the adjoining town-
ships should follow the grand
example set by the Lehman
Tewnship Supervisors and en-
act similar ordinances in their
township. By so doing they
would save their constituents
many heartaches.
Sealed bids were opened Tuesday
night at Lake-Lehman High School all "the kind people who sent her |
| cards and gifts on her fourth birth- |
day; which she celebrated on June |
for general construction, plumbing,
heating, ventilating and electrical

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Campbell

Keefer. of Benton, called on’ Mrs.
William Hughes Thursday.
‘This reporter agrees 100%
with the Pots editorial in re-
gard to an alarm system that
really functions when an in-
mate escaves- from the State
Correctional Institution. The
element of surprise should be
eliminated. An alerted com-
munity will be prepared.

tended by her parents, Mrs. Arline
Rood and her aunt, Florence Keefer.
Her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

Many ‘records have been broken
thus far in 1961. Heavy snow, cold
| winter : weather, and ‘now we have
the ’ coldest June day on record,
with the temperature pretty tlose
to the freezing ‘mark. It looks as
| if we are going to have two seasons
| —Winter: and July and August.»
