Mrs. Louie Ayre
To Teach At Sem
Has Wide Background
Of Musical Experience
Mrs. Louie W. Ayre, well known
in the Back Mountain for her
excellence in music instruction and
her painstaking attention to stu-
dents under her direction, will
teach organ, piano, and musical
theory at Wyoming Seminary.
Mrs. Ayre, resident of Trucks-
ville, is a graduate of Wyoming
Seminary School of Music. She at-
tended the Julliard School of Music
in New York City, the Yorke Trot-
ter Scheol in London, and the St.
Louis Institute of Music. 7
She has served as organist and
choir director at Calvary Church,
Grace Church, and St. Clements,
-and at Trucksville Methodist." She
is a member of the Mozart Club,
the Wyoming Valley Oratorio’ So-
ciety, and is dean of the Wilkes-
Barre chapter of the
Guild of Organists.
Cecil Moore Stricken
By Fatal Heart Attack
Cecil A. Moore, 63, Mooretown,
suffered a fatal heart attack, and
died almost instantly as he was
setting forth in a neighbor’s car to
go fishing late Saturday afternoon.
The driver, Jack Spees, pulled to
the side of the road when Mr. Moore
was stricken, and summoned help
from the Noxen Clinic,
The body was taken to Bronson’s
funeral home. Services were held
Wednesday afternoon from the fam-
ily home by Rev. William Hughes
and Rev. E. J. Waterstripe. Burial
was at Maple Grove.
Mr. Moore was born in Sweet
Valley, son of Elizabeth and the late
Giles Moore. His mother, a bed-fast
invalid, is ninety years old.
He was a mechanic at Clarence
Myers’ garage at Huntsville. He had
also been formerly employed at
Caddie LaBarr’s in Dallas. He be-
longed to Huntsville Christian
Church.
Survivors include his widow, the
former Daisy Culp; a daughter, Mrs.
Irene Habblett, of Nanticoke: a son
Charles, Berwick; two grandchil-
dren and two greatgrandchildren;
his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Moore,
Mooretown. :

Arriving home in time to spend
Father's Day with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Wayne King was Ted King,
member of the 109th Field Artillery
stationed at Fort Knox, Ky. A pic-
nic supper was held in the evening
with these attending: Mr. and Mrs.
Donald King and family, Kunkle,
Mrs. Dorothy Wadas and family.
Shavertown, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle
King and family, Meeker Mr. and
Mrs. Richard King and family, Mt.
Zion and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rug-
gles. 3
Gail Cornell .and Jean Winter
attended the seventh birthday party
of Ruth Rusiloski on Saturday, June
10.
W.S.C.S. was held at the church
with Mrs. Fred Winter, hostess, as-
sisted by Esther Alles. Plans were
made for Night Market in August. |.
Devotions were by Esther Alles and
Mae King had a program on refu-
gees. Present were: Elizabeth: Ide,
Marie Wolfe, Carrie Wolfe, Edna
King, Edna Rebennack, Ruth Rog-
ers, Edna B. Rebennack, Edna Kar-
schner, Claudine Daily,Marie Miner,
Mae King,, Letha Wolfe and Dolores
Garrahan.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Winter and
children, Carol Ann and Wanda
Lee, Benton and Mrs. and Mrs. Ad-
rian Winter, Jr. and children, Joan
and John, recently visited Mrs.
Annie Winter and Mrs. Fred Winter
and David.

Odds And Ends Committee For Library Auction Lay Plans
‘A number of key women of the
Odds ‘and Ends Booth met with
Mrs. Russell Lawry on Wednesday
to discuss plans for manning of the
booth at the Library Auction July
6, 7 and 8. Plans at present are
to open the booth for the evening
session on July 6, which starts with
a chicken ' barbecue supper, and
with a

Miss Kate Kirkendall
Passes Away At 78
Miss Kate Kirkendall, 78, native

afternoon at General Hospital
where she had been admitted June |
