Mrs. William Carey. of Orange Road.

the occasion of the baptism of
Bradley Wendell.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Reinhardt,
formerly of Orange, were visitors
in Mt. Zion Sunday. Mrs. William
Alling of Mt. Zion and Mrs. George
Dymond, of Center Moreland are

“the old home town” of Mt. Zion.
Mrs. LaBar is the former Evelyn
Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Paul Smith. Their ‘two daughters,
Linda and Marcia were with them.
They are living in Bethlehem. I
married “Si” and Evelyn several
years ago and they do not seem
to hold it against me! When I
first came to Mt. .Zion as pastor
“Si” was one of the young people.

of Exeter Township School had a
picnic at Nay Aug Park in Scran-
ton Monday.
Gene LaBar and buddy, Marine
William Ainsworth were weekend
guests of Gene's mother at Mt.
Zion. Ainsworth is from Harris-
burg.
Gene came the other night to
try fishing in our pond. It wasn’t
long before he retreated in utter
disgust; no fish, but plenty of bites
—not from the fish but from the
hungriest mosquitoes in the, world.
This Marine was not at the time
equipped for jungle warfare!
Sunday afternoon there was
open house down at Thomas
Davis on North Street, West
Pittston. It was a joint pro-
duction of Davis and Seiples.
The Seeiples live up her at
Mt. Zion. Phyllis Seiple and
Nancy Davis are classmates,
graduating from West Pittston
High and together are entering
Nesbitt Memorial Hospital,
Kingston, this fall for a nursing
career. The affair was held in
. Davis’ back yard and was at-
tended by many friends not
only of the Davis and Seiple
families but also of Susan
\ Thornton, who has been living
at the Davis’ while completing
her course at high schcool.
