Are Elected To
Honor Society
Lake-Noxen Chapter
Admits Four Girls
And One Young Man
National
Lake-Lehman
inducted five
Lake-Noxen. Chapter,
Honor Society, of
Area Joint School
members on May 25. Elected were: |
Seniors - Donna Meeker and Jud-
ith Shalata; Juniors *- Stephen
Arendt, Beverly Lord and Sandra
Yellitz.
They were selected on their qual-
ities of scholarship, leadership, char- |
acter, and service to the school.
Grover Anderson a senior, was
master -of ‘ceremonies for the for- |
mal program.
Talks on the purpose of the meet- |
ing’ and qualifications for member- |
ship were given by Jacquelyn Ruff, |
a senior, and by alumni members -
Judy Searfoss,
Gary DeHope.
Songs were sung during the cere-
mony by Jane and Joyce DelKanic |
with Larry Carpenter as taccompan-
ist. 3

The roll was read by Mrs. Car- |
rie Smith Rood, the sponsor, i
the pledge of membership was led |
by Grover Anderson.
Mr. Anthony Marchakitus, High
School Principal, spoke to the mem- |
bers and then presented their cer- |
| tificates: and membership cards.
The mothers presented the plaid
to the incoming members.
My, Lester B, Squier, Supervising
Principal, congratulated the members |
and addressed the student body.
Entertainment which followed the |
ceremony included; Trombone Solo, |
Timothy Swanson accompanied by
his. mother Mrs. Fred Swanson;
| Trumpet Solo, Larry Carpenter; Voc- |

| inducted, presided at the tea table. |

of the tea.
Dr. David Kunkle, Machell Ave. |
| Dallas, is a patient at Geisinger |
| Hospital where he is submitting to
| surgery.

Forkston Errors Pave
Way For Easy Victory
Behind the four-hit hurling of |
Alez Wilson along with sizteen
errors by the Forkston defense,
Beaumont had little trouble in down-
ing Forkston’s Men's Club 19-1 on
the loser’s diamond Sunday.
Beaumont also did some lusty hit-
ting collecting fifteen safeties off
the Forkston hurlers. Carl Crispell
did the big stick work, getting four
hits in six trips. Searfoss, Brobst,
Harris and Conden all hit safely
