Pioneer Avenue, celebrated their

Mrs. Roberts is the former Mina
Honeywell, daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Isaac Honeywell, farmers
who lived on the site of the present
Dallas Township School. Mr, Honey-
well gave the land for the first
school house in the area. The fam-
ily later purchased and moved to a
farm in Demunds where the Free
Methodist Camp Ground is located.
Mr. Roberts is son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Laurence Roberts, pros-
perous Falls farmers.

' Roberts served as school director for
| twelve years and was instrumental in
fifty-fifth wedding anniversary with building the Little White School
in the
area. He was also a member of the

election board = for twelve years.
, After settling in Shavertown, he
, worked for the Traction Company
for four years and for Sordoni Con-
struction Company for twenty-seven
{ years. He retired eight years ago.
There were four children, Harry,
who died in infancy, Raymond and
Laurence, both killed in automobile
acciidents, when grown men; Dor-
othy, now Mrs. Creasy; also two
grandchildren and three
grandchildren. ~
Mr. and Mrs. Roberts are mem-
bers’ of Shavertown
Church and until recent years took
an active part in its organizations.
Mrs. Roberts still retains her mem-
bership in the Berean Class but sadly
The couple was married at the | misses many of her old friends when
she attends meetings and parties.
In fair health, the couple had a
very happy anniversary on Tuesday,
visiting with old friends who phoned

David A. “Roberts, 210 Ferris
Avenue, Lawton, Oklahoma, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Roberts of
Shavertown, was promoted April 7
to specialist rank, comparable to a
corporal’s status in the U.S. Army.
A graduate of Dallas Township
High School, Class of 1958, David
enlisted December 30, 1958, and
completed his basic training at
Fort Dix. During furlough, March
21, 1959, he married Ruth Clark, |
also a 1958 Township graduate,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn
Clark of Beaumont. Having been
assigned to the Missile Technical |
Training School at Fort Bliss, Texas,
he reported for duty March 28 as a |
student in the Nike Maintenance !
Course. His wife flew down to join |
him at El Paso and they set up |
housekeeping off base. |
By October 1959 his superior per- |
formance as top honor graduate in |
a class of fifty seven selected stu- |
dents in the Electronics Course, won
him letters of commendation from |
commanding officers in the 1st |

and he was advanced to Private

Wed, Forty-Six Years
Mr. and Mrs. William WMizdail,
Ceasetown, celebrated their forty-
sixth wedding anniversary Wednes-
day. The Mizdails were married at
St. Mary’s Church, Nanticoke, on
April 19, 1915. Mrs. Mizdail is the
former Frances Sobieski. They came
to iCeasetown after
married and have lived on the same
farm ever since.
Their eight children are: Mrs.
Edward Schrama, Ceasetown; Frank,
Nanticoke; Eugene, a major in the
Army, presently stationed at Wil-
mington, Delaware; Leona, with the
Signal Corps in Philadelphia; Hedy,
Director of Nurses at New Caledonia
Hospital, Brooklyn, N. Y.; Dennis,
mandger of a Purina Store at
Mansfield; Mrs. Sal Castiglioni, a
Nurse at Bound Brook, N. J.; Mrs.
Edward Mark, Ceasetown, a former
teacher at Lake-Lehman School.
They also have nineteen grandchil-
dren, Mr. Mizdail owned and
operated a dairy all his life, produc-
ing all milk on his own farm. He
is now retired. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis
Mizdail and seven children, of
Mansfield, visited Mr. and Mrs.
Mizdail, last weekend.
