TWO STUDENTS PREPARE
DIORAMA ON GETTYSBURG
As a result of their research
on the Civil War, Kenneth
Higgins and Albert Matukitis,
students at Dallas Junior High
School, have prepared a dio-
rama of the Valley of Death and
Little Round Top at the Battle
of Gettysburg.
The scene presents the rugged
slope of Little Round Top,
Devil's Den and the action dur-
ing the second afternoon after
the battle.
“Looking at it” according to
the students,” it is easily under-
stood how Little Round Top
proved impregnable to the Con-
federate force that assailed it
on July 2, 1863.”
The diorama, made of ground
paper, and vividly painted, is on
display in the office of The
Dallas Post.
