open for the season July 2, close
August 13. Land and water sports
are offered to girls between eight
and sixteen. Activities include
swimming, crafts, games, hiking,

Pre-season and post-season ac-
commodations may be arranged for
week-end groups.

was convened March 27 by Wilkes-
Barre District Superintendent, Rev.

of business was the granting of a
license to preach to David Glahn,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Glahn
of Carverton. Jack Scoble, teacher
of the boys’ class in the Carverton
Sunday School spoke highly of David,
who is planning to enter Union
College” in Barbourville, Kentucky.
Mrs. William Reid, wife of the
pastor, had been recommended by
Wyoming Conference Commission on
Ministerial Qualifications for ordina-
tion to Deacons Orders at the coming
session of Wyoming Conference in
Kingston. The Quarterly Conference

study groups which presented a five
year program to meet changing
conditions. Recommendations were
referred to the three churches of the
Charge.
A motion was passed to request
the, return of the Rev. Reid as
pastor for another year. His work
was highly commended by the group.

W. O. Washburn family, former
summer residents of [Dallas and
Trucksville for years, in the death
| of Lindsey, aged fifty-seven, now of
| Bryn Mawr, son of the late Mr. and
| Mrs. William O. Washburn. Besides
his wife and a son, William B,
Philadelphia architect, he is sur-
vived by all his sisters and brothers,
Elizabeth, now Mrs. C. H. Yeager,
| Martha, Mrs. F. M. Gibbson, both
of Sarasota, Fla., Alex, publisher and
"owner of the Hope Star, evening
newspaper at Hope, Ark., and (Char-
lie, following in his Dad's footsteps
as insurance executive in Pittsburgh.
Lindsey who was manager of the
Darby District of Metropolitan Life
! Insurance Company, retired a ‘year
| ago because of ill health. Funeral
services were held Monday morning

His late father, who spent his boy-
hood and youth in Kunkle, always
a booster of the Dallas Area and
benefactor of Dallas Methodist
Church, and his wife are buried in

William H. Condon
Passes Away At 89
William H. Condon, nearing nine-
ty, resident of Beaumont for the
past thirty years, was buried Satur-
day in Fern Knoll. Rev. Truman
Reeves, pastor of Beaumont Baptist
church, officiated at- services held
from the Nulton Funeral Home.
Mr. Condon had been a patient at
General Hospital since March 27,
when he was transported in the
Noxen ambulance. He died at Gen-
eral Wednesday morning.
‘A farmer for many years, he was
born in Kingston, son of the late
Mr and Mrs. Edward Condon. g
He leaves a son Edward, Beau-
mont, with whom he made his home;
seven grandchildren, fourteen great-
grandchildren, and eleven great-
greatgrandchildren.
Mrs. Rena Rood, 88,
| Lies At Bloomingdale
Mrs. Rena Rood, 88, for the past
four years resident of Broadway
where she made her home with her
niece, Mrs. Martha Stevens, died
early Thursday morning.
She was buried in Bloomingdale
Cemetery Saturday afternoon, Rev.
Fred Hickock officiating at services

The former Rena Downing, daugh-
ter of the late Albert and Sarah
Hagenbaugh Downing, was born at
Harveyville. She lived thirty years
in Kingston before moving to the
Back Mountain, and belonged to
Kingston Methodist Church. Her
husband, Harry B. Rood, died five
years ago.
She is survived by a brother,
John R. Downing of Pleasant Valley,
and several nieces.
Mrs Severn Newberry
Loses Father In Death
Floyd Boyer, 84, of Endicott, N. Y.
a native of Beaumont, died recently
of a heart attack at Wilson Memorial
Hospital, Johnson City. ~
He is survived by a son, Alden,
of Lehighton; four daughters: Mrs.
Severn Newberry of Dallas and De-
land, Florida; Mrs. Howard Winten-
berg of Endicott; Miss Joan Boyer
of Endicott, with whom Mr_ Boyer
made his hdme; Mrs. Jeanette Beck
of Downsville; a brother John Mal-
lory of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Florida, “Dad used to run the old
Beaumont House at Beaumont fifty
years ago, the home where the
Sayre family now lives.”
