Mrs. Richard Cross and infant
son have returned to their home
on Highland Avenue from Nesbitt
Hospital.
Donald Stoneman, Carverton Road,
was treated at General Hospital Fri-
day morning for a laceration of -the
left hand which required three
sutures. He suffered the injury while
at work at the Art Dress Company
in Wilkes-Barre.

requirements to become a rated local
athletic official. She received her
~ card from Mrs. Malba Shaver, secre-
tary of the examining committee for
the Wyoming Valley Board of

Asst. Police Chief and Mrs. Robert
Cooper.

Palm Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Wes-
ley Lamoreaux visited Mrs. Lamor-
eaux’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Nafus in Wharton, N. J. Upon their
return that evening, they noticed
two packages in their opened mail
‘box. Wrapped in unaddressed paper
they contained Easter candy, a small
glass bowl and two packages of
cigarettes. The Lamoreaux have
turned to the POST with the hope
that someone will read this article
and see that the packages reach
their rightful owners. Someone's
Easter would have been made
happier had the packages’ been
placed in the right mail box.
Bonnie Cragle visited Mrs. Laura
Church of Berwick Sunday.

day night at Jackson Fire Hall.
Firemen’s Auxiliary met last night
and completed plans for serving the
Annual Turkey Supper April 22.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Nafus, War-
ton, N. J., called on their daughter
and son-in-law, Township Supervisor
and Mrs. Wesley Lamoreaux Satur-
day. They were here to attend the
funeral of Mr. Nafus’s uncle, William
Condon of Beaumont.
Mr. and Mrs. Malvin Wagner, who
celebrated their twenty-fifth wed-
ding anniversary on April 4, were
the dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Cecil Poynton, Sr., Shavertown. Due
to Mrs. Wagner's recent operation
no other activities were planned.
Harold Bertram and Wesley Lam-
oreaux, co-chairmen of the ticket
committee for the Fireman's Turkey
Supper Saturday, April 22, starting

Sherwood, have been afflicted with
the measles. Dawn’s condition is
not good and your prayers will be
appreciated.
Mrs. Frank Prutzman, represent-
ing Wyoming Chapter, will leave
Sunday for Washington where she
will be a Page at the DAR National
Conference April 17 to April 21. This
will be her third conference. She
is registered at Hotel Shoreham.

to Bryan College.
Mrs. Mary M. Pudimott spent
Russian Easter with her mother,
Mrs. Anna Dubil, Berwick. Mr. and
Mrs. Michael Dubil, Sr., and children,
also spent the day with their mother.
Tommy Rusnak, Chase Road, and
Joseph Hagel, West Nanticoke, spent
the weekend with William and
Richard Pudimott.
Anthony Berger, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Louis W. Berger will cele-
brate his sixth birthday tomor-

Edwardsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Rocco English and
children, State College, were week-
end guests of Mr. English’s sister
and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Alex
Rebar of Huntsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hutchins were
weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ziba
Smith. The Hutchins’ came up
from Baltimore to visit Mrs. Edith
Freeman who is seriously ill at Nan-
ticoke Hospital.
Last year’s Fish Champion, Town-
ship Supervisor, Wesley Lamoreaux,
has made plans to trade in his boat
trailer for a heavier model and he
has been seen overhauling his fish-
ing equipment .and boat. [For
several years, Wesley, his wife and
son, Allan, have gone to Noble Bay
in Canada to fish during the first
week in July so Wes is beginning to
get things orgainzed even though
July is still far off. You other
would-be Champs better get busy
if you hope to dethrone him.
The State Highway ‘Department
has not lifted a finger to even fill in
pot holes and washboard ridges on
Larksville: Mountain = Road. The
County Road "Department at least
filled in most of the worst pot holes
on the Chase-Hillside Roads. Would
suggest you drop a line to Repre-
sentative Fred Shupnik and Senator
Harold Flack to have Mountain Road
reconditioned or repaved as anything
short of this would be a waste of
money.

brated their thirty-third anniversary
at a Turkey Dinner with the follow-

4 at Nesbitt Hospital. Leslie Darryl
weighed in at 8 pounds 1 ounce.
Mrs. Brown is the former Alma
Gilbert, Luzerne. Sterling is asso-
ciated with Air Products Co. The
Browns have four children, two boys
and two girls, with Leslie Darryl
putting the boys out in front.

weighed in at 7 pounds 2 ounces,
Joyce Beverly Ellen after Mrs.
Ostrum’s three sisters. Joy arrived
almost with Spring being only about
five minutes late, arriving at 3:27.
Sandra Ashton, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Albert Ashton, celebrated
her 8th birthday April 6. Dinner
guests for fried chicken were her
cousin, Nancy Ashton and her girl
friend, Sharon Swelgin. Others who

Mr. and Mrs. Ord Blaine took
their infant son back to childrens
Hospital, Philadelphia where he will
have to remain for -a while. Mrs.
Walter Malinoski drove them down.
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Cragle, Hun;
lock Creek, called on Mrs. Dell
Hahn on Sunday. Mrs. Hahn was
ill on Saturday.
Mrs. Elizabeth Sayre, who ‘has
been staying at the home of her
son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wil-
liam Sayre, Lake Silkworth, is now
staying at the home of another son
and family, the Thomas Sayres.
Idetown
Fourth quarterly conference of the
Lehman Charge was held in Idetown
church on & Sunday, April 9th at
three. Rev. Leon W. Bouton, District
Superintendent, presided over the
business session. Rev. William B.
Howard, pastor of the [Lehman
Charge, opened ‘the meeting with
prayer. About 45 attended. There
was a discussion about the five year
plan. Following the meeting re=
freshments were served by Mrs.
Herbert Ward, Mrs. Bruce Williams,
Bess Cooke, Mrs. Kenneth Calkins,
Mrs. George May, Mrs. Alfred Hadsel,
Mrs. William B. Howard and Mr
Loren Keller poured.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Thomas, ‘West
Nanticoke, announce birth of a son
Mark Gilbert, on Saturday morning
April 8th. Mrs. Thomas is the
former Joyce Husted, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Husted. They
have another son, Lewis 3rd.
Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Calkins,
Rochester, N. Y., spent the Easter
weekend with Mr. and Mrs, Gilbert
Husted.

the Easter weekend with Rev. and
Mrs. David Haines of Emerson, N. J.

returned home on Thursday, accom-
panied by Lina Garinger, who will
spend two weeks with her, and with
Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Rosengrant,
Eleanor Humphrey drove to
Nicholas, N. Y., on Friday might to
visit her sister, Mrs. James Wyant,
and Larry Wyant, who had been
spending the week with Mr, and
Mrs. Samuel Humphrey and Eleanor.
R. Dale Wagner was welcomed as
a new member in the Alderson
Methodist Church on Sunday. Mr.
Wagner came by letter from East
Dallas Church.

Spring is here! ‘What a surprise
to awaken Monday morning to an
eight inch snow. It was really a
beautiful sight, but the snow was
very heavy and broke many limbs.
1 guess this is the onion snow, as I
have mine planted. Don’t forget to
feed the birds, as there are many
here now, and they look so hungry
when there is so much snow.
The wild birds are enjoying the
lake now. Saw ducks, two loons
and many sea gulls on the open
lake yesterday. :
