For Tax Collector
THOMAS MOORE
In the middle of the ring in a four
way contest for the Republican
nomination for Tax Collector in
Dallas Township is Thomas Moore,
a graduate of Dallas Township
Schools and former president and
member of Dallas Township School
Board for two terms.
A real old timer in Dallas Town- |
ship; he was born there as were |
many of his forbears, Tommy has |
been engaged in the grocery business
in Dallas since 1923—first with the
late C. A. Frantz then with his suc-
cessors Mr, and Mrs. Harold Titman
and more recently as the head man
at Hislop’s Market—which, incident-
, will move to its new location on
orial Highway next Monday
morning.
At one time Tommy was Justice of
the Peace in Dallas Township but
relinquished that job to George
Pater, present Justice. |
=e is married to the former
Jessie Hislop. They have one son,
Shepherd, a graduate of Dallas
Township Schools and Stroudsburg |
State College, now teaching math at
Boveville Central Regional High
Schocl.
Mr. Moore is a member of East
Dallas Methodist Church and George
dening, which he loves.
He thinks a tax collector should
have a convenient location on a hard
road for his office but even with his
own convenient location he would
establish regional offices if elected
and also call on older people to pick
up their taxes if they requested it.
For Supervisor
HARRY MARTIN
Like father, like son! Harry Martin
whose father, William, was for many
years a Supervisor, is seeking the |
Republican nomination for Super-
r in Dallas Township.
‘Harry was born in Dallas Town-
ship and has lived there all of his
life where he obtained years of ex-
agence in road work.
esently caretaker of the New-
berry Estate, he is married to the
former Florence Roushey, daughter
of the late Oliver Roushey familiar
Back Mountain figure of a genera-
tion ago and a Civil War veteran.
» Mr. and Mrs. Martin have four
children who like their parents
attended Dallas Township schools.
They are Harry, Jr., Mrs. Warren
(Marilla) Stanton; Mrs. Jay (Peggy)
Bloomer, and Priscilla at home.
* Mr. Martin is a member of East
Dallas Methodist Church.
He has never held public office. If
he is elected he says he will be a real
supervisor and conduct the office to
the best of his knowledge, standing |
firmly for progress at all times. |
