BOROUGH SECRETARY,
Morris King Remembers
Mark Twain's Remark
A happy birthday to Morris King
"and Marilyn of Shavertown who will
celebrate their
saries on Sunday.
Mr. King made this tnteresting
observation when asked about his
anniversary: ‘There are some in-
teresting lines attributed to Mark
Twain to the effect that father isn’t
as futile as his offspring like to think.
Teenagers might take note of what
Twain said—‘When I was a boy of
fourteen my father was so ignorant
I could hardly stand to have the old
man around. But when I got to be
twenty-one, I was asfonished at
how much he had learned in seven
year.”
Ice Breaking At Lake
Ice is thinning and breaking at
Harveys Lake, with a considerable
expense of open water at the Out-
let. Ice-cutting was necessary again
on Monday, to free docks threatened
by the weekend freeze, but the main
body of ice is no longer safe for
walking. During the severe weather
of Februaty, it reached a thickness
of two feet. Ice-fishing stormed
mid-March.
