Parents Council Plans
Graduation Party
Mrs. Frederick Eck was hostess
Friday night to Westmoreland
Parent Teacher Council committee,
which discussed plans for a party for
all seniors and their guests, to be
given after commencement ex-
ercises.
As one of the fund raising activi-
ties designed to finance the party, a
Sports Night Saturday, April 8, in
the Dallas Township gymnasium was
decided upon.
Varsity girls and boys will stage a
basketball game, and fourth, fifth
and sixth grade boys from Dallas
Borough and Dallas Township will
challenge boys of the same grades
from Shavertown and Trucksville,
Tickets may be procured from
students or at the door.

Grandmother Of Triplets
Dies Of Complications
Mrs. Lillie E. Belles, 75, of Har-
ris Hill Road, died early Wednesday
morning at Nesbitt Hospital, where
she had been admitted seven weeks
earlier as a medical patient.
Rev. Robert Germond, pastor of
Trucksville Methodist Church of
which Mrs. Belles was a member,
was assisted by Rev. Grove Arm-
strong in conducting services from
the Williams Funeral Home on Fri-
day. Burial was at Chapel Lawn.
Pallbearers were Doneld and Rob-
ert Belles, John Griffith, Richard
Monroe, Richard Griffith, and Harold
Smith. :
Mrs. Belles had been in failing
health for some time, suffering from
arthritis and complications. The
triplets, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Carlton Hadsall with whom’ she
made her home, talked to her on
Sunday, so that she could wish them
a happy birthdey.
As a child and young, married
woman, Mrs. Belles lived in Noxen,
moving there when a small child
from Dallas Township. Her parents
were the late Nathan and Elizabeth
Belles Monroe. All her children were
born at Noxen. Before moving to
Trucksville twenty years ago, she
had lived in Courtdale for ten years.
I She is survived by her husband
'H. Wesley; five children: Donald,
Mrs. Carlton Hadsall and ‘William,
‘both of Trucksville; Mrs. Lincoln
Hoover, Plainfield, N.J.; sixteen
| grandchildren, seven greatgrand-
children.

Outlet Free Methodist Parsonage
Is Ready For Occupancy Monday
Outlet Free Methodist parsonage
is completed, and Rev. and Mrs.
Emery Stokes and their family ex-
pect to move into it on Monday.
The parsonage, situated directly
across the road from the church,
was built on faith, starting three
years ago with a building fund of
$60.
The seven room white stucco
structure: is a monument to the
faith that moves mountains, The
rambling-style home lists in the
$20,000 bracket. When the weather
moderates and the plot is more at-
tractively landscaped, dedication
ceremonies will be held.
The move saves Rev. Stokes a
seven-mile drive each way. He has
been living in the George Bond
house on Ceasetown Road, across
the fence from the Correctional In-
stitution grounds.
Rev. Stokes and his wife, the
former Belba Finch, have three
children: Joyce, an office ‘employee
of Commonwealth Telephone Com-
pany; David in the automotive
field; and Nancy, 13, a student at
Lehman. The Stokes family moved
to this area three years ago.
Dorcas Society Plans
Illustrated Talk
’
Dorcas Society will sponsor an
illustrated talk on the Balkans Fri-
day, April 7, at St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church, 8:15 p.m. Miss Florence
Moyer of Reading, whose trip to the
Balkans was part of an 8,200 mile
bus tour from Frankfurt, taking in
the Passion Play at Oberammergau,
will talk about the lives and cus-
toms of the peoples in the countries
she visited.

Tumbling Instruction
Will Start Monday
Classes in tumbling will start at
the Shavertown YMCA on Monday
at the same hours which have been
allocated to trampoline instruction,
which ends on Saturday. Hours for
junior-senior thigh school students
are Mondays, Tuesdays ‘and Thurs-
days 3:30 to 4:30, Fridays 4 to 5:30.
For elementary school students,
hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thurs-
day afternoons 4:30 to 5:30, and
Saturday mornings 9 to 10:30.
Registration may be made at the

open. to boys and girls who are
members of the Back Mountain
YMCA. A fee of ten cents is charged
for each instruction period.
Trampoline sessions have

Pinewood Derby
Cub Pack 281 held its annual
Pinewood Derby Wednesday evening
at, Dallas Methodist Church. A color-
ful collection of miniature racers
made by the Cubs, assisted by their
Dads, competed. Each of the forty-
six entrants received a gold trophy
ribbon.
