Harry Smith, 84, lifdlong resident
of the Sweet Valley area, will be
buried Friday afternoon in Kocher
Cemetery. Rev. Ira Button and Rev.
Kirby Jones will conduct services at
2 from the Bronson Funeral Home.

10 p. m,
Mr. Smith died Tuesday morning
at General Hospital where he had
been a patient for several weeks.
He was born in Ross Township,
son of the late Daniel and Rebecca
Trumbower ‘Smith, and farmed all
his life. For twelve years he served
as Ross Township supervisor, and for
six years he was caretaker for State
roads, retiring” in 1955 because of
advancing years.
He was an enthusiastic sportsman,
hunting and fishing in the vicinity.
His wife Grace Goss, died three
years ago. The couple celebrated
the Golden Wedding in 1949. There
are ninety-six descendants.
The couple not, only reared eleven
children, but in addition, six foster
children, giving them the same depth
of affection accorded their own.
Surviving are: children, Mrs.
Clarence Oberst, Danville; Mrs.
James Lord, Huntsville; Daniel, Har-’
veys Lake; Mrs. Earl Kittle, Mrs.
Andrew Adams, Mrs. Ben ' Adams,
Mrs. Raymond Shaw, and Lawrence,
all of Sweet Valley; Wayne, of
Chester; Mrs. Ralph Skrofonsky,
Pringle; and Mrs. Donald Kocher,
Lehman; 42 grandchildren, 43 great-
grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs.
Lawrence Shaw, Shickshinny; Mrs.
William Wandel, Fernbrook; Mrs.
Sherman Hoover, Ruggles; Mrs. Ray
