Born in Green Bay, Wisconsin,
attended a parochial

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps
and was impressed by the example of
a friend—a graduate of Marquette
College of Journalism. = Returning to
civilian life, McDonald enrolled at
Marquette and stayed for both his
bachelor’s and master’s degrees in
journalism.
Mr. McDonald is known. as a forth-
right columnist, a perceptive critic,
the writer of challenging articles,
and the maker of controversial
| speeches who is able to leave a
challenge with his audience.
Harry May, 82, Dies
[n Native Beaumont
Harry May, 82, died Tuesday
afternoon at the home of Cecil Ross
in Beaumont. Services will be con-
ducted from the Nulton Funeral
Home Saturday at 2 p. m. by Rev.
Truman Reeves, pastor of Beaumont
Baptist Church, officiating. Burial
will be in Orcutt Cemetery.
Mr. May was born in Beaumont,
son of the late Anson and Emma
| Campbell May. As a young man he
left this area, and for many years
was a railroad man. He returned a
few years ago, and made his home
with Mr. Ross.
| He is survived by his son, Walter,
and a daughter, Mrs. Robert Muir,
both of Wilmington, Del.; ten grand-
children and four greatgrandchil-
dren.

Back Mountain, both Westmoreland
| girls, have completed four weeks of
intensive training in the General
Office Procedure course at Parris
Island, S. C. The studies included
business English, filing, office cor-
respondence and typing.
Pvt. Florence J. Hilgert is daugh-
ter of Mrs. Ruth Hilgert, Trucksville.
Pvt. Mabel L. Jones is daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Owen M. Jones, Dallas.
Miss Hilgert graduated in 1959.
Miss Jones withdrew from school
last October, when starting her jun-
ior year.

Evan Robert Radanovitch, infant

vitch was christened Sunday at Po-
lish National Church, Edwardsville,
with Rev. Joseph Rekas officiating.

the family relatives and friends was
held at Grandma Radanovitch’s

Last Community Concert
Of Year Saturday Night
The last concert of the series of
concerts sponsored by the Com-
munity Concert Association will be
presented this Saturday night
when Giorgio Tozzi appears at Irem
Temple.
In a recent “renewal letter” sent
to members it was stated that the
concert would be held on Monday
night. This was in error. The con-
cert will be held as originally sched-
uled and as listed on the back of
membership cards, this Saturday
night. !
