more than once the fumes from the
rear end of a Greyhound bus, when
forced to travel behind one in traf-

twentieth birthday anniversary next
month with his parents after
completing two years of service in
the Mediterranean.
After graduation from Westmore-
land High School and Wyoming
Valley Technical School as an honor
student, Don joined the U. S. Navy
Reserves and was assigned to the
flagship USS DesMoines. His tour
of duty took him to France, Spain,
Sicily, Greece, Turkey and Italy. The
DesMoines was one of the several
fortunate Sixth Fleet ships able to
attend the 1960 Olympics in Rome. |
Last July the ship received the
Commander Cruiser Force Atlantic
Fleet Engineering Award for its
engineering departments’ efficiency.

Rainbow Assembly Party
The Charles James Memorial
Assembly of Dallas will hold a Valen-
tine Party following their meeting
Thursday, Feb. 23 from 9 p.m. to
10:30 p. m. at the Idetown Fire Hall.
