FORGOTTEN
The birthday of another famous
American, George Washington,
celebrated in February. When I
told you about the other special days
in February I failed to mention this
one. It was not done on purpose
but it slipped my mind which is one
of the failures of the-human mind,

boyhood. He had a clever mind
that worked for the good of the
people around him. This continued
throughout his life. He became rich
through his hard work at an early
age. His life is filled with exciting
minutes. Our first President was
truly a great man.

SENIOR NEWS
Seniors have turned in their
orders for graduation announce-
ments and have selected name cards.
and an excitement is already felt
among the seniors.
FUN FOR ALL !
Our Valentine Dance was much
fun for everyone, especially for those
of us who dressed in costumes of the
“roaring twenties.” Several of the
boys came dressed as the famed
hoodlum, Al Capone, and out did
each other with facial scars and
gangster clothes. Some of the girls
were dressed as flappers and every-
one had a good laugh at the crazy
costumes. A king and queen were
picked from the couple who wore the
best costumes. Eddie Coolbaugh and
Judy Woolbert were the lucky win-
ners. Ed was a riot in one of the
bathing suits of that era, and Judy
has a clever flapper outfit. The gym
was decorated in the traditional
valentine and heart motif. We
danced to many popular records.
STUDENT TEACHERS
The student teachers hdve been
| getting valuable experience teaching
at our high school the past few
weeks, and we're all learning much
about the teachers, too. One thing
for sure, they give us plenty of
homework. We hope they are suc-
cessful in their efforts and wish
them a bright future in the teaching
field.

A wonderful picture of winter
fun was snapped at Twin Lakes Pond
on the Sunday following the Sopho-
mores’ Cotillion. The Sophomores
had to plow through oceans of snow
to cut the ice at Twin Lakes, but
the snow-plowing job was the most
attractive one of the season.
Our camera follows other groups
each week as they travel from the
campus to Wilkes-Barre to compete
in their favorite sport—swimming—
at the C. Y. C. or at.the Y.
Strangely enough hauling and
pulling have proved a source of fun
this winter—hauling and pulling
sleds we mean. The campus slopes
have made themselves constantly
available during the last months.
Finally our camerman learned the
