‘paper industry, one of the most
important of the early 1800's in
this area. “From Rags to Riches
‘ was the title chosen by the speak-

brated their thirty fifth wedding an-
niversary, Friday, February 17 with
their daughter Mrs.” William Burna-
ford and her husband and son,
Billy, and a few friends, Mr. and
Mrs. John Pickering and Mr. and
Mrs. William Pickering of Kingston.
Both the Kingstons are natives of
Wilkes Barre. Tom has been em-
ployed by the Hazard Wire Rope
Works for the past twenty seven
years. Twenty three years ago the
couple moved to the Back Moun-
tain Area and have taken an active
part >in the Henry M. Laing Fire
Company, in the Dallas Methodist
Church and its organizations, and
Mrs. Kingston in the Daughters of
America, ever since. .
There is another daughter, Mrs.
Samuel Fowlér who, with her two
children, Sammy and Jackie Sue,
is spending two years with her hus-
band, Staff Sergeant Fowler, in
Tripoli. A son, Tommy, was killed
in 1947 while on his way to attend
band practise at the Dallas School.

Phoenix, Arizona, to wish them both
happy birthday. Mrs. Girvan’s birth-
day was on January 22 and Mr.
