Mr. and Mrs. Walter Freeman,
Kunkle, will celebrate their ‘thirty-
ninth wedding anniversary with a
family dinner on Sunday.
Mrs. Freeman is the former Marie
Huey, daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Ziba Huey of Kingston. Mr.
Freeman is son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. George Freeman of Beaumont.
The couple was married on Valen-
tine’s Day, February 14, 1922, in
First Baptist Church, Scranton, and
started housekeeping in Luzerne
where ‘Mr. Freeman worked ‘in ‘the
mines. Six years ago they moved
to their present home in Kunkle and

of an eight pound, six ounce baby
girl, Charlene Louise, at Mercy Hos-
pital on February 11. This is their
first, child.
Mrs. Houlihan is the former Linda
Rice, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth Rice, Orchard Farm. Mr.
Houlihan is son of Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Houlihan of 42nd Street. He
is attending Pennsylvania State Ex-
tension College at Hazleton and next
year will study on the campus.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Adam Smith,
275 S. Main Street, Manville, N. J.,
announce the birth'of a seven pound,
three ounce baby boy, William
Harry, at Nesbitt Hospital on Feb-'
ruary 10. This is their first ‘child.
Mrs. Smith is the former Nancy
June Kreischer, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. William Kreischer of Ferguson
Avenue, Shavertown. Young Wil-
liam is named for his grandfather
and his dad. Mr. Smith is son of
Mrs. Adam Smith, Lawrence Street,
Wilkes-Barre, and the late Adam
Smith.
Mother and baby left the hospital |
on Monday and will spend several
weeks at the home ‘of Grandma and
Crondpa Kreischer. Dad will return
to New Jersey shortly.

Mr. and Mrs. Burl Updyke, Pikes
Creek, announce the birth of a ‘seven
pound, nine ounce baby girl, Janine
Louise, at Nesbitt Hospital on Satur-
day, February 11. They also have
four boys, Melvin, aged eight, Alan,
six, Duane, four and a half, and
Bryan, three.
Mrs. Updyke is the former Shir-
ley Britt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Edwin Britt of Sweet Valley. Mr.
Updyke is son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Updyke, Pikes Creek. He is asso-
ciated with his father in the straw-
berry growing business and is em-
ployed at the WBRE Television
Station.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Lincoln on the birth of a
daughter, Kim Susan, who weighed
in at 6 pounds,10 ounces, at Nesbitt
Hospital on February 9. Mrs. Lincoln
is the former Carol Zalaskas of
Kim Susan was born on her
great grandfather Swan’s birthday.

his seventy third birthday anniver-
sary on February 9 when his chil-
dren, grandchildren and great grand

Weds At State College
Announcements have been re-
ceived by local folks of the marriage
of Kathleen Merle Kirchner, daught-
er of Mr. and Mrs. Leo J. Kirchner,
Scio, N. Y., to Jack Edson Hendricks,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hen-
dricks of Shillington, formerly of
Lehman.
The ceremony was performed Sun-
day, January 15. The couple, both
students, reside at 121 N. Patterson
Street, State College, Pa.
Clark Cornells Will
Move To Jamestown N.Y.
Mr. and Mrs. Clark Cornell and
two year old Debra, Pioneer Avenue,
Shavertown, will move ‘the end of
the month to Jamestown, N. Y.
where Mr. ‘Cornell has been trans-
ferred by the Pennsylvania Miller's
Mutual Fire Insurance Company. He
has been a field agent in the Wilkes-
Barre office for the past year.
Mrs. Cornell is the former Barbara
Cheney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Philip ‘Cheney, Center Hill Road,
Dallas. Mr. Cornell is son of Mr.
and Mrs. Alden Cornell of Tunkhan-
nock.
Prior to joining the Miller Com-
pany, Clark was employed by Phil
at the Atlantic Gasoline Station in
Dalias.

ton. PFC Dubil, Jr., is stationed at
the Army Missile' Base ‘at Crete.

adelphia Hospital to see Edward

tion there. She found him in ex-
