It will take a great deal more than
a bad storm to close the doors to
Crown Imperial Lanes. The Bonomos
were unable to get home Friday

town and so, with a spirit that fits
right in with Back Mountain folks,
the whole family bedded down in

Charlie gained second place for
individual high series and third
for high single.
West Side Novelty grabbed the
limelight among teams when its men
unlimbered to total 2836 pins. This
included Williams’ and Panunti’s
series; Landis with 201 (566) and
Molley 197 (526), more than enough
to take all 4 from Vanderhoff
Sanders. Vanderhofl’s had Birn-
stock hitting 206 (560); Shoemaker
202 (553); Adams 196 (553) and
Stevens 183 (527). West Side moved
in to take second high team series
on record.
Trudnak’s scoring led Jim-Jon’s,
who chased Luigi’s all night and
finally caught wp to take the last
game; Matte and Stolarik chipped in
with small 500’s and they lost total
wood by 27 sticks. Roberts’ 597
series and D. Richards 198 (570)
made the difference for. the Pizza
bakers with help from Shalata on
188 (501).
Montross led all scoring between
Dallas Esso and Michael’s with his
high series, and with Braces 198
(532); Coolbaugh’s 184 (504); and
Bellas’ 203 (540), they put the cap
on for Birth’s. (Bellas bought the
coffee on his low 5407?) . Ehret 201
(558); Roberts 203 (522) and P.
Thomas 185 (502) took second game
for Michael's by 1 stick.

came in‘ with 174 '(511) to help
Gosart’s take 31% from Berti and
Son. Berti’s lads never got under-
way as Stair posted the only 500 to
help split the second game. (What
happened to Bill Allabaugh?)
Dallas Nursery continued its
pennant-drive by taking 4 from ‘a
four-man Shavertown Lumber team.
Mike Corgan 222 (578); Stredny 193
(559); Garris 199 (535) and An-
drasko 200 (517) piled up a big lead
as best Shavertown could do was
185 (517) by Kriel and 191 (512)
by ‘Mush” Cross.
Dallas Post went down fighting as
it went to the line with three men.
Muchler’s 202 (533) and Gorey's
204 (512) were enough to take first
game from Phillips Supply. Reese
198 (547) led Phillips’; Gaunlett hit
183 (538) and Moore 193 (516).

THE DALLAS POST, THURS
hurst team was concerned, his
628 was wasted. Leo’s games of
184-254-190 could not overcome
the otherwise “off-night” the
team had and Dodson’s took
over for 3 points.
Leo had some support from
Bennett with 189 (516) but Jack
Birnstock with 183-209 (571); Dod-
son 180 (524) and Richardson 181
pulled Dodson’s out in front. Stone-
hurst ended the evening tied with
Payne Printery in fourth place, 14
points each.
Herm Kern moved on down the
line to third with 15 points after
losing 3 to first place Dallas Dairy,
lifting the “milkmen” up to 19
points. Carl Roberts was ‘spilling
the pins”tfor the dairymen hitting
183-230 (591); Else with 183-192
(538); S. Fielding 181 (537) and R.
Fielding 183 added more fuel. Bill
Lancio hit 185 for Kern's.
Dixon’s had high total pins of
2819, but Disque had a big single
game of 1009 pins. Disque featured
Al Ciccarelli 210; Jack Yanik 215
and Bill Allabaugh 236 in that game.
Al had a 540 series; Jack hit 545
Bill also posted 185 and totaled 585. |
Nick Buynak was high man on the
team with 212-211 (593). The
combination took 4 points from
Titman’s and tied with Beaumont
Inn, 16 points each.’ Titman’s had
Gaylord posting 224-188 (575); Burr
180-189 (513); Lyne 183.

with Barsh scoring 192-218 (557);

hoff 222 (547); Muchler 220 (538);
Matte 210 (512) and Kamont (529)
for Payne. Bolton's was led by J.
Bolton with 183-180 (529).
Another 4 points went to Codes
from Crown Imperial. A large
handicap was a help to Code’s as
it had no men in 500’s and only high
games of 198 by H. Shupp and 183
by G. Smith, while Crown featured
Roy Stair with 204-192-191 (587);
Shemanski 192(542); and Ehret 502.
Too bad, boys! That's the way it
goes!
Robinson took 3 from Merl’s.
Cross posted 191-181-182 (554);
201 .(538) for Robinson while Merl’s
men were down with Mickno’s 186
high game.

Inn. Leading the Inn was Charles
Bray with 185-214 (571); Blizzard
201 (519); WinogradsKi 184 (511);
G. Bray 182. Kunkle hit 188 for
Shady Side.
Jack Roberts holds the record
at Crown Imperial for winning
the most silver dollars. Jack
has guessed his series and hit
the exact number seven times.
(And he claims he was on the
wrong team last summer when
he bowled for the Mr. Lucky
team.)

Grace Sickler fighting with 153-199-
187 (539) while her teammate, P.
Kolton, tried with 159.
Note: I have had complaints from
Delaney’s that I have overlooked
400 series that Ann Kardell has
posted. Ann has been improving
steadily and if I have overlooked any
high scores she has had, I am very
sorry. I'll check more carefully after
this, Annie. ;
Jeanne Richards was thrilled
with a beautiful 202 game
Thursday in Dallas Women’s
Club League; she totalled 483
for three games.

series, beating Bea’s 540. While
Eleanor was smashing this
record with games of 224-166-
181, her Delaney Sun Gas team
was breaking a record set by

Pete Ambrose has got his
Tuesday night team figured
now. He makes it a point to
show up after the first game is
finished. If the Circle Inn girls
have lost it (they usually have)
he puts his foot down, gives a
few lectures on “how not to let
a team down,” and sits down to
cheer them on. And what does
the team do? Naturally, they
take 3 points!
