Bolstered by the rugged rebound- ing of Bill Lewis, Bast Dallas then matched the Saints goal for goal, and with Frank Tenecza displaying nerves of steel as he dumped in six straight foul shots in the final few minutes, they managed to come out the nip-and-tuck fray victorious. Throughout the game, it was Rich Clemow doing the heavy scoring for East Dallas, making 22 points on 11 field goals. Tencza was next with 15 tallies. For St. Therese’s, Len “Pooch” Kozik was the workhorse pulling down a number of rebounds and paced his team in scoring with 14 points. : “Pooch” played his: last game for St. Therese’s as he left Monday for California. The League will certainly miss a great competitor and a really swell guy! Pete Letts and Bob Bolton lent, scoring support for the Saints with 8 points each, and Bob Richardson turned in a fine floor game. In a game as. exciting as this, it is hard to cite any one or two play- ers as doing an outstanding job; for Prince of Peace we could mention the all-round alert play of guard Don Purvin, who played one of his finest games, the fine rebounding of Lee Ohlman, the important foul- shooting of Tom Richardson in the closing minutes, or the rugged heads-up game played by Joe Lopa- sky. All in all, it was a tremendous team effort. For Harveys Lake, “Zeek” Hinkle again proved to be the top scorer, registering 20 points and good rebounding. Harry Der- hammer : displayed a lot of fine shooting in the first half, registering 10 points. Dick Searfoss, Bob Harris, and Chuck Allabaugh did a fine job of moving the ball around and setting up many offensive plays. Lehman Teams Start Battle Although I have not complete in- formation of the contest Monday in FIREMEN’S League, I have heard “rumbles” between the Lehman A and C teams. There seems to be quite a battle between these two neigh- boring teams and 'since Lehman C took first half honors with 49 points and 3 losses, A team is determined to give the boys a real fight this half. Watch the “smoke” from the A’s since “Pete” joined them. This week, Lehman A took 4 by forfeit with Alex Rebar piling up 579 pins. Lehman C split with Meshoppen.
