Wilkes-Barre Business College
Second Semester Night School Class-
es will begin Tuesday, January 17,
at 6 p. m.
Students who have registered, as
well as unregistered students will
report at the same time to the 5th
floor of Northeastern National Bank
Building on Public Square. Students
have matriculated for diplomas in
stenography, secretarial science, ac-
counting, and business administra-
tion.
Among the individual subjects
that will be taught are all phases of
typing, beginning shorthand,
advanced shorthand, “refresher”
shorthand, = business mathematics,
business English, and office ma-
chines. Special typing classes for
adults who have had no previous
training will be offered Tuesday eve-
ning.
Francis V. EBustice, registrar,
stated earlier in the year that regis-
trations at the business college had
reached ‘an all-time peak in 1960,
therefore, -combining first semester
students with those enrolling for
second’ semester the Wilkes-Barre
Business College will have one of
the largest enrollments in its history.
' Faculty members who will teach
classes at the evening sessions are:
Mrs. Helen Crocker, .Ann Marie
Jaskiewicz, Mrs. Teresa Saluski,
Francis V. Eustice, Frank Gerosky,
Leonard Barlik, and George Wil-
liams.

blanks for any Back Mountain resi-
dent. |

Win Honors
Mellman, Squier, Sidler
Cited At Farm Show
Honored yesterday at Pennsyl-
vania State Farm Show in Harris.
burg were three area schoolmen;
Dr. Robert Mellman, superintendent
of Dallas Schools; Lester B. Squier,
supervising principal of Lake-Leh-
man jointure; and John Sidler, in-
structor in vocational agriculture.
Dr. Mellman, a platform guest at
the morning session of Future
Home-Makers of America, was ac-
corded membership on the, FHA
Tr council.
Squier at the afternoon ses-
ar ot Future Farmers of America,
was one of eight administrators to
receive the Keystone award; John
Sedler was one of ten instructors to
win the Keystone honor.
A busload of junior class students
from Lake-Lehman, nineteen boys
and nineteen girls, left Lake-Lehman
early Wednesday morning to spend
a full day at the show. Students
were, accompanied by Mr. Sidler
Blue Ridge chapter FFA advisor, and
Mildred Scruitsky, homemaking in-
structor and advisor to the FHA.
Mr. Squier took with him in his
station wagon his wife, his son, Roy,
Mrs. Joseph Ellsworth, Mrs. Sidler,
Mrs. Myron Moss, and” Kenneth
Ellsworth.
Dr. and Mrs. Mellman represented
Dallas Schools.
