His horizon narrowed little by little as blindness increased, Mr. Wilson became total- ly blind six weeks ago. An opera- tion for removal of cataracts was scheduled for September 4, the day his wife Elida died. Dismissed from ‘the hospital, he entered again for the operation a few days after the funeral. Since discharge from the hospital, he has been staying with Mr. and Mrs. Everett Wilson on Carr Street, own home at Ruggles. Friendship Class Raises Fund For Redecoration Friendship Class of Lehman Me- thodist Church cleared over $95 at Friday's Bake-Sale held at Boyd White's in Dallas. Counters were stacked with crusty loaves of bread, and women who do not ordinarily contribute many items to a Bake Sale made pies and cakes and cook- jes to swell the fund for the new paint job at the Sunday Schoel rooms. The Friendship Class finished pay- ing for the vinyl plastic tile floor in the Sunday School, an outlay of $650, decided that the new floor showed up the old paint, and re- solved to earn some more money. Whitesell Brothers are doing the job at an estimated cost of $250, just in time for the Centennial Cele- bration scheduled to start this eve- ning with a Home-Coming dinner served by Lehman Methodist WSCS. Reminds Dallas PTA 0f Bloodmobile Visit Stephen Sedler, Blood Bank chair- man, spoke to members of Dallas Borough PTA Monday evening, re- minding them of the coming visit of the Bloodmobile September 28, and the necessity of rounding up ten donors to keep membership elig- ible for receiving blood. Mrs. Thomas Doughton presided over the business meeting. The president and one other delegate, yet to be named, will represent the Dallas PTA at the National PTA Convention in Harrisburg Septem- ber 30, October 1 and 2. Betty Grose, membership chairman, an- nounced a goal of 10 percent in- crease in membership by November, and urged more fathers to join. Mrs. Louise Colwell, school prin- cipal, explained the aims of PTA. Attendance banner went to Mrs. Colwell’s fourth grade and Mrs. Han- nah James’ kindergarten. First grade mothers served. Parents met with teachers in in- dividual rooms after the business meeting. Visitors to Mrs. ‘Arline Rood’s first grade were impressed with the new desks and chairs, un- packed by Mr. Welch, custodian, in time for the meeting. Beauty Contest Films Dr. A. S.
